WOW!!! 11/10! I love your CJ! It's incredible to me that you can integrate all the highways and rail lines into your city and still keep everything realistic. I especially love the sunken highway in the residential area. It looks awesome and very realistic. I also really like your downtown, great diversity and variety in there, with not one repeated building. Keep up the awesome work!! I can't wait to see more!

I agree with you yoshikoroyimara, although I'm leaning more towards Russia. Where in Russia I have absolutely no idea.

Tianjin, China? I really have no idea but to me those buildings look a bit Chinese

Well because I am Australian I feel obliged to choose Canberra, but I don't want to because to me Canberra seems a little out-classed by some of the other great capitals like Paris, London and Tokyo. The capital that I personally like the most however, is Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

Well I recognize the little buggy things - they are all over South East Asia. Where exactly this photo was taken i do not know. Maybe Phuket or Bangkok in Thailand?

Good work guculs! This looks very promising so far!

Well from the pictures i think the proposed city looks great However I think it will take a heck of a lot more than just this one city for there to be an financial shift of power to Saudi Arabia.

Karachi in Pakistan?

lol i have no idea at all. Hanoi in Vietnam maybe?

Yep, its true. The restaurant at the top of the Sofitel Melbourne has a bathroom with a glass wall, so you can see the city even when nature calls

Well I think that the tower looks better disguised as a tree (even if poorly done) than it would if it was just a big concrete pole sticking out of the ground. I definitely prefer that tower to the ones in Australia, which are basically huge metal frames sticking out of the ground with an antenna on top.

As ExiL3 said, Dubai isn't whittling it's fortune away for nothing. They are creating the demand now, and also investing in tourism in an attempt to create a secure future. That is why they are going to such big efforts to make Dubai an interesting, big, and attractive place for tourists and residents alike. The three palms currently under construction in Dubai are examples of this. They are glitzy and are an attractive place for most, and when they are completed they will be a massive tourist attraction for all around the world.

hljackey: I definitely like your list better than the others. How could Sydney ever be in front of Melbourne on such a list? (excuse my Melbourne bred bias)

The Capital of the World!
NoahJ14 replied to spacenuteskimo's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
lol, I think the chances of Earth ever having a capital city are very slim.... However, if I had to choose one current city, it would be New York because it is probably the worlds most known city. -
Unfriendly Rivalries between cities
NoahJ14 replied to chix4free's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Melbourne and Sydney in Australia - They've been rivals ever since they both fought to be Australia's capital city. (To settle this fight, a new city was built - Canberra) -
In the end I've gone with Dubai. I think the city is home to some incredible architecture, especially the Burj Dubai when it is finished. However, I agree with the people who said that Dubai appears to be just one big row of skyscrapers and nothing else. I would definitely like the city more if it looked a bit more like a sprawl.

I would go for Meblourne on this one, but not just because I live there. As many have already said, Melbourne is much more laid back, with less hustle-bustle and more culture. However, I like the looks of Sydney's CBD better.
