  2. Show us your Farm Land!

I'm currently working on a rural/suburban part of my region and I can't get the farms the way I like them, so I just wanted to see what other people had done and find any advice you may have. This is the farm area so far, its a european area, I'd be interested to know what people think about the trees, I think they are better than nothing, but i'm not entirely convinced.

  6. Burbank City 2

Unfortunatly due to technical problems Burbank City will not be returning, i know it had alot of fans so i have decided to create New Brubank, which i hope will be even better. It will still be the capital of Liberland and sit on the banks of the Oscuro. I hope everyone like it. Todays update is quite a wordy one so beware! Today we will be looking at the Leigh Tower Complex, and as you can see it is raining and it does so often in the city. The Leigh Tower Complex was created as a solution to more traditional single family homes, many of which had been damaged during World War Two. These new tower blocks where completed in the summer of 1960. There fantastic views and modern designs made them very attractive to the Sims of New Burbank. By 1974 many of these the tower blocks had deteriorated, leaky pipes and damp became frequent problems, as residents where not able to fix these problems themselves, the estates manage was kept very busy and often fell behind on repairs. Another problem was crime; the long dark corridors became havens for muggings and drugs dealers, by now all but the poorest residents had moved out. In 1982 the Government came up with what they thought would be a solution to the problem, they allowed residents to buy there apartments from the city council, many residents took this option. However this only added to the problems, now facing mortgage payments residents where unable to invest in the property and the council could no longer demolish the tower without the substantial cost of buy the flats back. In 1996 the council decided to buy back tower A (the tallest in the photo) and spend considerable money on refurbishing it. Now tower A is popular with young professionals due to the views and proximity to the city centre. In 1998 Tower E was also refurbished, and is now popular also. Presently the council are looking into refurbishing towers B and C.

  12. Owlerton Valley

I thought i would have a go at writing a story based CJ so here we go. I hope everyone likes it and constructive critisim is always welcome. David and Jemma Young had set off early from London, to avoid the rush hour, in the back seat where there young children Martin and Millie. Today was the start of there new life away from the big city. They where moving to Owlerton Valley, a small town called Mossfield Cove. David has discovered the village whilst on the way to Liverpool on a business trip. Back in London David had been a financial consultant for a large bank, but he longed for the quiet life, he was going to set up a financial consulting firm in the town. Although David didn’t know, Jemma had wanted to escape London rather quickly, she had not decided what she was going to do in the cove, but what she did know was that she wanted to get out of London. Until now Jemma had been a model, having left school at 15, usually working for the shops on Carnaby Street. As the Young family’s E-Class Estate pulled on to George Street, their eyes all fell on house No. 7, their new home, it was a 3 floor Victorian home, the previous occupants had decided to move Torquay since they had retired and there choice of wallpaper and fittings disgusted David and Jemma. Jemma, however, welcomed the distraction of decorating, with no friends, no job, no demand for models in on the quite shopping stree, and one guilty secret, choosing paint colours would be something to do.

Lundenwic Market is one of the most famous landmarks in Burbank; it was named after Joseph von Ludenwic, the first man to import the infamous pineapple fruit in 1500, having bought them from Christopher Columbus. Lundenwic was a Austrian Baron who had been chased out of his native country after he had attempted to ban alcohol on his estate. In the middle of the night the local peasants came for him and his family with pitchforks and torches, he managed to escape in a series of tunnels which ran beneath his castle. He then travelled to England where he stocked up on the extremely rare and exotic pineapples before boarding a ship to Burbank. Upon arrival he set up a meeting with the Emperor; Nicholas II. Lundenwic asked if he could stay and in return offered a pineapple as a gift. The Emperor accepted the offer and allowed him to stay. Lundenwic decided that with his surplus pineapples he would set up a stall next to the parliament building. In 1567 Lundenwic died, since it opened his stall and the pineapple became synonymous with wealth and generous hospitality. By now Catherine I was on the throne and appointed a young servant, Charles Andrews to try and grow pineapples in the Royal Gardens. She also appointed David Scott; an architect to design a new piazza for the sail of pineapples and other exotic foods. Scott had spent the past twenty years in Italy and was greatly inspired by the grand piazzas and buildings. His creation, the Lundenwic Market which was completed in 1569. Meanwhile, at the Royal Botanical Gardens Charles Andrews had been trying to figure out how to grow pineapples, he had made several attempts and even managed to grow several plants but they had not produced any fruit, but in February his first pineapple appeared just in time for the opening of the piazza. The official opening of the market was in May and was marked by Catherine II giving the land owners the right to hold a market by Letters Patent. Replies jacqulina: Thanks for stopping by. Amerikaner: Thanks, your city i think is more french than mine, i try to make it look more realistic than Burbank City One which in mu opinion was too repetitive and had too many skyscrapers.

Today sees the conclusion of one of one of the most hotly debated political issues in recent times, the privatisation of Liberland’s Railways will be decided to day at the Parliment Building. The railways had been nationalised after the Second World War when they had been crippled by bombing and a lack of investments during this period. The three large private rail companies; North West Railways (NWR), Great Central Railway (GCR) and Burbank and Southern Railways (BASR) where all bankrupt and where brought together under the 1947 Railways Act. Liberail, a new government owned company that would control the railways was formed. However, with the 2007 Railways Act having just been passed inside the Parliment Building routes will run by private companies, bidding for individual routes is expected to start next week, with Virgin Trains expected to get most of the Inter-City lines. The act was passed in Parliament by just 10 votes, it is widely thought that the Libertarian Party would try to pass this act sooner rather the later, they faced heavy opposition for the Social Unionist Democratic Party who have promised that the railways will be renationalised when they are next in power. It is hoped that the privatisation will lead to better service, cheaper fares and get rid of the widespread corruption which presently exists within the railways. If anybody would like to kno more about the parliment itself you can click here to visit its intorduction in the original Burbank City. This is the HQ of HSBC Liberland, a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings. It opened in 1985 which was a capitalist boom period for the city. This made the building a prime target for the Communist Revolutionary Federation, in 1987, an anonymous tip off alerted the police to the presence of a truck parked out the building which allegedly contained a bomb. The police soon discovered the bomb and it was disarmed. The building itself was designed by Sir Fredrick Simons, a British Architect who had also worked on HSBC buildings in China The building has 47 floors and is 180m tall, it is estimated to have cost 2.1 billion roubles. The atrium features a large complex of mirrors which means that the main source of light is the sun. The offices themselves overlook he river the building is near to the Old Burbank Bridge, it is close to the North Embankment Metro Station on the North Loop and Metro Lines. In 2004 two men disguised as security guards entered the bank proceeded to the central server room and hacked into the main computers, they left with over 2 million credit card numbers which are thought to have been worth 10 million roubles. The men where never apprehended and experts suggest it is impossible to know how many fraudulent transactions where carried out using these numbers. [Reserved for table of contents] Information about Burbank Burbank sits on the banks of the River Oscuro, the origin of the name is unknown, althought it is thought that the river was first discovered by Italian settlers in the 11th century, who, on the way to Asia, decided to make camp here for the winter. However this was a bad choice as it is thought that many of them were eaten by bears or died of frostbite whilst swimming in the icy river. Those who remained decided to make a permant settlement to hounour those who died. The city is named after the Burbank Trading Company who arrived here in the 17th century and set up a logging and mining company, as many of the townsfolk worked for the company the city was named after it. Unfortunatley the Burbank Trading company went bankrupt in 1899. By 1900 Burbank was a large capital city of one of the world's greatest powers, Liberland. However in the summer of 1924 a communist revolution broke out, this divided the city in two, the communists took control of the south and the remaining Imperial Burbankians moved to the north, but in 1926 the communists tried to move to the North. These events caused the Imprialists to build a wall dividing the city in two, this wall remained until the city united under a new more democratic leadership in 1972. Despite this sections of the wall still remain in some parts of the city. Today Burbank remains the capital of Liberland, it is the nation's principal political, economic, financial, educational, and transportation center. It is home to many scientific and educational institutions, as well as numerous sport facilities. It possesses a complex transport system that includes the world's busiest subway systems.

Ted and Betty Jacobs had been married for over 40 years. They where a quiet couple who liked to keep themselves to themselves. Ted had been a successful business owner before retirement, he had founded Jacobs Solicitors, the largest law firm in Mossfield Cove. 10 years ago Ted had a big town house in the town centre, before moving to No. 9 George Street in the suburbs. Then when Ted retired he gave the business to his son, Bobby. The problem was his son was a terrible solicitor, the only cases he had ever won where for wrongly issued parking tickets by a blind traffic warden. After his son took over the business rapidly declined before being bought by one of the major UK law firms. His son had used the money to move to Spain, Ted was no longer on speaking terms with his son. Betty had been a faithful housewife since they first got married in the local church all those years ago, but she missed her son and wrote to him secretly once a week. Bobby would write back and address the letters to Amy across the road, so not to anger Ted, Bobby and Amy had been teenage sweethearts until Bobby had gone to Sheffield University to study History. Betty would use the time Ted spent at the allotments to read and write the letter. Ted would go down to allotments each day for around an hour. Ted spent the rest of his time going to see the local football team, Mossfield Cove Albion, but there was a problem, everytime he set off on the walk to the stadium it seem to start raining. Ted Jacobs also served as a member of the team's board. The team currently play in the National Conference Division at Nestle Stadium. Amy Ford was becoming anxious, it was nearly 8:30am and the new neighbours had not yet arrived, she had hoped to catch a glimpse of them before work. She could only hang on a few more minutes before setting off to Boots, where she worked as a purchasing agent. She enjoyed work, all the beauty products, the view out to the open sea, the relaxing lunches at street café. Amy had a reputation as a gossiper on the street, the truth was she was lonely; her husband was in the army and had been stationed in the Falklands for several months. Spying on the neighbours helped her forget about the pain. Amy lived at No. 8 and she knew everything about everyone on George Street, she had prepared a special welcome basket for the Young family, but it looked like that would have to wait. “Surely those urban types must have loads of secrets”, she thought, but for now she had to go to work. As Amy reached the end of George Street and turned on the High Street she thought about dropping in on her old friend, Jessica. Jessica was married to the local estate agents, if anyone was going to have any prior info on the Young family it would be Jessica. There was another advantage to visiting Jessica, he house was the biggest in the town, on Sea View Drive and Jessica always enjoyed socialising with the ‘right’ sort of people. Oops, forgot the ol' replies. Brentino: Thanks jacqulina: Thank you, i think i need to work on shortening them tho, to fit more in. PathE: Changed the typo, prob some more in this update, thanks for pointing it out. Schulmanator: Thanks jayo: It might turn into a town soon, but there are some other villages as well so don't worry. sc4portugal: Thanks, for people who are interested i used the ploping tool on STEX to place the british houses.
