Way too many blackened buildings. If you want a realistic NY you're gonna also need some custom content.

I use Rail and Subway mainly. If not that then it's GLR and El rail. I hate monorail, I don't know why I just do. Probably because you can't interchange it with any other network eg. El rail - Subway - GLR - Rail can all join up.

Here are some real life pictures that we took while in Hong Kong. I've been using some of these as my base template for the Sim City re-creation. Sorry but most of the pictures were taken in November '06 so It's a little cloudy... Anyway, to start off here's the Real Life IFC 2 tower. The Central Pier Some old houses on the north side of Llama Island Star Ferry Kowloon looking across to Central The clouds are so low that the IFC 2 tower is over the clouds! Star Ferry The gateway on the Star Ferry. What's an OCTOPUS? Ocean Terminal Looking accross at Central Plaza and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center A bit further down past Central Plaza The Far East Finance Center and The Lippo Towers. See the construction site? The HSBC Tower, The Bank of China and Jardine House just to name a few! The Hong Kong Island Star Ferry The HSBC tower In avenue GLR... Streets of Hong Kong Those trams again... An old building near the Bank of China On the streets! If you see you're self tell me Nathan Road, Kowloon at night Bixel's Victoria Towers in real life, outside Kowloon Park Kowloon Park pond Now an old photo. Some of the massive residential towers on the other side of Hong Kong Island. Some of them kinda look like the Garden Estate towers. That wraps up Real Life Hong Kong. Now for some Sim City pics. Here's the other side of Kowloon Park And see that big construction site, that's the ICC3 tower under construction That's all from me.

Oh My God! I've never seen SC Clasic before...luckily we don't like in the 80's anymore...
-
I don't want to imagine what sort of stupid music they could put in. I don't listen to it anyway in SC4, just turn up the raido!

I can see you're pictures but there's a bit small Looks kinda basic but It's a start. Hope you develop it well.

Well it's almost time to move onto the next area so I'm just gonna finish up with a few pictures from Central and Kowloon. I've taken Paul's advice and moved the Lippo to its proper site (behind the Far East Finance Center) Here's a nice shot of it in the evening. Central Plaza in the evening... And Pacific Place again with its amazing custom night-lighting. The Lippo Towers. There's crazy traffic for about 4 blocks all around the Lippo every evening, I swear I haven’t used traffic generators for this, it's all natural! Here's some of the busy low-wealth market areas from Tsim Sha Tsui again.

Hey, I live in Australia! Great start although there is one major problem, The costal plains of Australia are mostly flat. You don't see rough terrain like what you're got until you're at the least 100 km inland. Other that that it's a good re-creation, can't wait to see brisbane (where I live). Oh yea, just one quick tip, we don't have many elevated hi-way's in Australia at all.

You have a great mix of nice buildings in that city! I like it how all those huge shops back on to the farm lands, very realistic!

God, at this rate we're gonna have all the buildings from the Hong Kong skyline soon! Great work with the Bank of America tower, I kinda like the sort of simple texture, it works well on this particular building -

Wow simfox! All this stuff is fantastic. I hope you release it soon -
Why would you post this so early?

Great job with those bridges! Some parts of you're city look fantastic but all those blackened (abandond) buildings don't help. Maybe you could demolish them and let the new growth come in? You have a great park system going, keep that up!

Well, just slow down. Do you mean you're region population is 120,000 or a city with 120,000. If you're region only has 120,000 you have no hope of getting proper skyscrapers for a while (At the least 200,000) Once you get a steady regional growth then you should see skyscrapers starting to grow. Remember to keep health and all that other stuff at a good level or else it will become even harder to grow skyscrapers

There are heaps of good hotels on the STEX. I'm not sure if they all meet those requirements because most of them are CS$$ or CS$$$ but they should.

Here's a little something from Hong Kong

Well now the area around the Central plaza is complete along with my take on the Hong Kong convention and exhibition center. This is the building epically built for the handover of Hong Kong to the Chinese in 1997. The building hasn't been BAT'd yet so I had to make do with the Shanghai Museum of Science & Tec but I think its kind of close. Here it is at Chinese New Year with all the fireworks that get let off in the harbor! Also a day and night pic. CLICK FOR FULL IMAGE CLICK FOR FULL IMAGE

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates over the week... let's just say it takes a while to get all the ferries of Hong Kong in perfect working order. In this update I'll be showing off the main parts of central: Well, it took me most of the week but the IFC complex is finally done! The six piers that you see are the Hong Kong out-lying Island ferries; they are really the only way to get to some of Hong Kong's more remote Islands. The ferries behind this are the Hong Kong Star Ferry terminal. As you know the IFC tower 2 is the current tallest building in Hong Kong and the 6th tallest in the world at 88 stories (415m or 1362ft). It will be surpassed by the ICC3 tower in 2008/09. The picture below this is a closer look at the road network that surrounds the IFC complex. Here are some of the HUGE apartments that are just west of the central district. The large green tower is called 'The Center Tower'. It has hundreds of neon lights on it that change colour at night, it looks amazing but unfortunately you can't do that in Sim City 4. The Bank of China and HSBC towers at night. CLICK HERE TO SEE FULL IMAGE. And here's the same area as in the last picture but from the angle that you'd see from Victoria peak. And here I have a progress pic...umm I don't usually show pictures on un-finished areas in my CJ's but I think you all need to see a zoomed out version of Hong Kong Island so here you go. This also has a larger version so CLICK HERE to see that. As you can see the upcoming area is Eastern Hong Kong Island (The Central Plaza ect...) It will be the next update! A photoshoped version... Seeya's!
