I'm having crashing issues as well. I recently installed the game after a decade and downloaded all the patches and fixes. It worked fine. Worked my way through the STEX and downloaded custom content. At some point I must have done something wrong as now it will not start. I am unable to isolate the problem so I deleted all my SimCity files (in the steam apps/SimCity and also in myusers documents folder. I uninstalled the game completely and reloaded it. Now it will not run. My question is does the steam version game load files from anywhere else other than the users saved SimCity folder and the steamapps location? I ask this because I have a backup folder with all my old content.

Residential Job Preferences by Wealth Classes and EQ.
BravoGreenONE posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Ive searched high and low for what is described in the title. One of tge gurus here had posted a link to the games mechanics that broke down the wealth classes by eq and from there the job preference according to eq. If anyone can post a link to that id be greatful -
Residential Job Preferences by Wealth Classes and EQ.
BravoGreenONE replied to BravoGreenONE's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Thanks a million. Your a gentleman and a scholar sir. Just out of curiosity have you emplyed any strategies that strike the right balance with your cities? Do you try to keep wealth classed at targeted eq levels? Edit: Additional question regarding the charts if anyone can answer. CS$$$ employes 62% R$ but in the Workforce Drives chart there is no EQ bracket of R$ that accepts CS$$$ for work. How does that pan out? Am I reading the charts wrong? -

The State of Simcity - EA/Maxis speaks
BravoGreenONE replied to baertooth's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
This is exacttly it. Its easier to say computers will not handle it rather than the truth- the engine cannot. EA/Maxis is just trying to save the little pride they have left. -
Discussion about City Tile Size
BravoGreenONE replied to alex macnamara's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
So with the new expansion coming out am I misunderstanding things or will there be many more agents in the game? Hasn't it been often been suggested that glassbox cannot handle more agents, hence the lack of bigger maps? Guess its not an issue of agents.- 1,284 Replies

Discussion about City Tile Size

People are allowed to have whatever opinions and expectations they want. Who has the right to say otherwise? You're right, they are allowed to have whatever opinions and expectations they want - if they want to look foolish and say SimCity 2013 should be SimCity 4, and all bear all the silliness such a statement carries along with it, by all means. I'm simply saying, if you want to play SimCity 4, go play it. This is a different game (and yes, it is still SimCity). Can we get back to the original topic? Lets not engage in hit and run tactics. Dont assume that because people want larger maps that they are asking for sc4. Ive heard plenty of people who have enjoyed the game and ask for bigger maps. Look at the modding community. These are people who enjoy the game and are looking to optimize the game. One of the first priorities was larger maps- and theyve made some progress on this.- 1,284 Replies

Future plans for Ordinaces
BravoGreenONE replied to tristanrob's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I keep hearing how simcity 4 needs the mods. Fair enough. But where does simcity 2013 stand with the ability to mod? And when was sc4 hamstrung with the always drm requiement? Sc4s modability and the lack of drm are what makes it a living and breathing game. -
Many of these things boil down to its to simplified vs too complex. If anyone has played hearts of iron would know that a game can be complex without requiring the player to micromanage until he or she gets a headache. You see there are things called defaults and/or automation toggles. A game can be made to be complex and the player can choose whether he or she wishes use a certain feature. I mean how can you possibly argue against terraforming? If you dont like it don't use it. Its that simple.

Simcity 2013 or simcity 4
BravoGreenONE replied to Snorp09's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yeah sadly im with you on that one. Before I buy 2013 the map size has to increase AND the price has to drop. Looking foward to Rome 2 by creative assembly. Those guys know how to make a game and the mods are usually rediculosly awesome. Its just too bad the simcity development is run by a bunch of clowns.- 74 Replies

It has a maximum speed of 1 mile in 3 hours (1/3 mile/hour). ~ It can remove over 76,455 cubic meters each day.(100,000 large dump trucks at 40yds. each) Thanks for the info and the video. Can you forcibly bankrupt a neighboring city?
BravoGreenONE replied to infoman96's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It's like Obama's Care ... the money comes from nobody to help poor ppl on poor cities ... Yes there should be a lift the deficit ceiling or print more money ordinance. Then you could add illegal aliens to the simulation. They come take your citizens jobs pay no taxes then go to city hall and protest for free services. -

BravoGreenONE replied to alex macnamara's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Sadly this is all too true. Economics forces change. 1.6 million people stated with their money that this was a good game. It may be the case that there just isnt enough incentive to change things.- 1,284 Replies
