I'm surprised it turned out so poorly. From the previews I figured it would be more 'gamey' and less 'simy' and that was okay with me as long as it was fun. However, there are so many aspects of it that are broken, incomplete, or just plain nonsensical that there isn't much fun to be had. So many of the mechanics that should be intuitive or make sense just don't. It is sad that this is what has happened to a such a legacy as SimCity. I don't think I could have imagined before this happened that the name SimCity would no longer be something that people cherished and looked on fondly. It is now something that people vilify and disparage. That is sad. The individuals and institutions responsible should be ashamed and they should not be excused.

Glad I caught this thread. Been messing around with some of this stuff and I'm having a bunch of fun. Really helpes with one of my big gripes with sc4 now if only we could do surface lakes/rivers/streams. -

Elevated rail, subway, and bus station is the default elevated rail station modded to provide subway and bus access. Created for Corlian and anyone else who wants this capability. Plot Cost: 600$ Size: 1x3 Monthly Cost: 20$ Capacity: 4000 It should appear bellow the default Elevated Rail station in the menu. It'll have it's name and description changed to fit. This lot will only work with Rush Hour due to the new transit features it requires. -

Peg, in order to use the el-rail, monorail, raised highway, and possibly ground as well, you need to create props for them. Here's a file with some prelim work I did to create props of el-rail and monorail tracks. props-for-mega-station.zip The key property to these props is their Resource Key Type 0 that points to a s3d file. So to create new ones just copy the entire exemplar, give it a new instance id and edit the Resource Key Type 0 property and name fields. I originally got these props working by looking at the trains as props set that someone made, sorry I forget who but good work. Once you have the props made you can set them on the lot and then setup the transit properties. I recommend building the rul -

Sorry guys I got hit with an unexpected move this week. Computer is last thing to pack and I wanted to get this posted. It containes updates from most of the previous posts and some extra information provided by redlotus. There is some more information that redlotus provided me and now I see some more from DarkMatter I'll get that into Version 3 next week after I unpack everything. A bit of a bump but also an request. I'm going to be updating and re-writing this tutorial a lil bit in the next week or so. So I'm asking that if anyone has anything they would like added or any parts of it that seem unclear to let me know in this thread so I can make thouse changes. I wrote this for all the lot builders out there so I want to make sure that it helps as much as possible. Thanks -

Update: I'm not sure how many people know about this, I made the mistake of assuming it's common knowlage but it's probably not. When you transit enable your lots you will be unable to place them right next to eachother or next to any other lot that connect to the same network. For example a road top bus stop cannot be placed right next to the toll booth, or two el-rail stations can't be placed right next to eachother. The lots expect to have network tiles on either side of the connection. So far this hasn't been solved. If it could be I'd assume Maxis would have done it for thier own lots (El-rail, monorail stations, etc.,) but we are still optimistic. -
