I'm looking for those walls you can use to divide your city into higher and lower portions, they are grey I believe, don't remember exactly what they are called but they aren't sea walls. They are city walls, but ones used against a slope, not like a "china" wall.

Ok so this has happened alot of times, but basically I will be playing a city and radiation will just suddenly appear, yet years go by and nothing changes and the radiation status is green, meaning no radiation at all. And this stays this way for years and years. Whats going on?

Here's one more, this one was taken in my own demo city. Image deminsions must remain within 800x600

I got confused easily as well. I've played Sim titles for a long time and not just ones by Maxis, and this game just seems very confusing to me. It's the first time I got frustrated with a game in a long time. The tutorial text wasn't very clear and didn't appear to sync well and I ended up skipping ahead and it expected me to have already done an action that I didn't do yet. It seems incomplete, even for a demo.

I too would like to offer some feedback on the demo. I've played it. That's about all I can say right now. It's not amazing. The graphics are good. The camera and scrolling is a pain. It's very hard to navigate which is something a city builder game should never have any issues with IMO. It's crashed on me several times and I have a pretty decent setup (Quad core, about 6gbs ram and a NVIDIA 8800) I put away all I could of my love for SC4 and my obvious biases. It just isn't a game I would play years from now like I would and still would Sim City 4. I still plan to play SC4 years from now, and it's 2009. Of course, this is not just because SC4 is a great game, it's because of the amazing fan base and it's wonderful assortment of custom content. But again, maybe I'm just being too darn biased. I don't know. :S

I wish I could but I overwrote the original with the photoshoped file. I went back into the game and took this unphotoshoped picture. I'm not sure it will help the same but I took it none of the less. Image dimensions must remain within 800x600

Just got done looking around Capitol City. Here's a screenie. Image dimensions must remain within 800x600

My download failed after waiting a whole day. I downloaded Download Accelerator Plus and it downloaded in about 20 minutes. Go figure. Anyways, so far I can report similar issues with scrolling as panther.

I'm currently downloading it, it's taking forever and now that all this bad commentary is coming down the pipeline I'm starting to reconsider continuing it.

Originally posted by: SimFox yeah... that transcript makes for one very, very depressing reading... So basically any comparison to SC4 and it's custom Content is pointless... CXL will never have that. MC is bent on controlling anything and everything. They clearly see custom content makers only as free/slave labor force that will provide them with artwork that MC will be distributing for "free" to those who pay for Planet Offer. ONLY! quote> That really bothered me, too. One of the biggest contributing factors to Sim City 4's success were it's fans. People who could get out and create and make new content. Keep the game fresh, and do it all for free for others to download. When I found out that MC was going to charge for new content it was a complete turn off to me. I don't think I'm alone in that feeling.

Long time Sim City player, first time post (i flooded my city!)

That's actually really cool looking, good thing it didn't ruin your city permanently though! -
Hooray! Very nice work! I like how you did the neighborhoods. Also I like how your CJ has kind of a Mid-West/rural South flare. I am also curious about what HD tool you use. Anyways, great update!
-
I think the fact that you make your pictures available in HD is great. It enhances an already spectacular CJ. Brilliant work, hope to see more!!

I live in New York myself. I love this cities rich architectural history. But I also respect Chicago's history. I can't decide really. I love both, and both are going to be amazing additions to skylines that need more super talls. Then again, I'm biased because I like to see cities full of mile high towers. I'm too much of a futurist.

It's loading a little slow for me, but otherwise it's really fantastic! -
Absolutely brilliant! I love this CJ. You capture the Middle Eastern progress boom and the look wonderfully.
-
You really did a great job on this. I love the uniform, but eye candy like look. Very good!
-
One of the best starts I've seen in awhile. Keep up the good work!

I just realized that you were from Wikipedia. Figures. Kidding! =P But seriously, great update. I love that huge "evil" looking tower. And the Biden bridge. LOL. Excellent!
