^ No, you aren't forced to directly interact with other players. They already said multiple times that you can play a whole region privately for yourself. The only thing that could possibly "screw" you up is the world economy.

"Privately" only in the sense that other players can't build there. This game is an MMO and they should just call it that.

If a given behavior is not explicitly forbidden in reference to "screwing over the world economy" in SimCity:MMO, such behavior will be compulsory, and the world economy will necessarily be screwed with. And people are endlessly creative in gaming the rules to run afoul of one another.

I really like how Civ V avoids this problem. You can play solo, you can play LAN and you can play over their game server, and *YOU* get to choose. Too bad EA/ Maxis is not competent enough to see how to do that.

Judging from the concept art, they're taking the art style in the direction of SC3000, and I like that. A kind of 'vintage/post-modern' feel that made the original Sims so great. But now they're, little by little, dancing around the questions and leading us to believe this will be another Society's fiasco.

The same people who thought Pandarens were the next thing that absolutely must happen in WoW...some inner circel game-geek bubble that gets absolutely no input from the general game-playing public.

I think it's just a developer starved for ideas, and pulling hail mary's out of their asses.

There is two things that im really hoping they are smart enough to try and bring into this game that is also very big for the modern world now.

1) Theme Parks, aquariums, things like that

2) being able to successfully build tunnels underground, and connect them in almost anyway

would definately only enhance the game... in my opinion
