About this City Journal
The region of Tuentia is my largest project to date, and very much ongoing. The 100% hand-sculpted terrain is complete, but I haven’t yet establish cities in many of the tiles. It’s anchored by three large city tiles:
Cresset River, centered on a large bend of the eponymous river, is the region’s capital city and center of commerce. It was the first to develop high-rises, has the tallest buildings in the area, and hosts the region’s only airport. Wealthy sims are drawn to its many condos and office towers on the high tree-lined riverbanks. Several major neighborhoods, each with their own culture and anchored by dense shopping/office cores, attract sims from various walks of life. The newest neighborhood on the south bank of the river is rapidly expanding with its new stadium, industrial parks, and apartment towers.
To the west, the unique geography of Raquette Falls features large islands in the middle of the Cresset River, similar to Montreal. The main island is known for its parks spread over several large forested hills and bustling downtown areas. Another island is home to Raquette University, quiet cobblestone streets lined with rowhouses, a street tram, and a walkable upscale shopping district. Gentrification is a concern in the northeast side of the city and in the towns just across the river.
On the ocean shore to the east is Port Blake. This up-and-coming industrial city is growing quickly, driven by the large seaport and warehouse centers. Now young sims and creatives are flocking to Port Blake, taking residence in industrial lofts as the nascent commercial core expands around the newly established elevated rail system’s Chicago-style “loop”.
Though these three cities are already linked by smaller roads and a passenger rail line, work has just started on a more robust transportation backbone linking the entire region, including a highway system and monorail. Additional regional airports are also in the works.
Surrounding these three cities are a handful of larger suburbs and smaller towns. Vacation towns cluster around the streams and lakes north of Cresset River, beach towns are growing in the southeast shores and islands, and farmland and villages dominate the east. Less-developed areas on the outer edges of the region include mountains and highlands in the northwest and south-central area, a river delta and wetlands to the south, and another large river to the northeast.
Mods, custom content, and play style: I'm using NAM 36, Lowkee's Appalachian Terrain mod, Gobias's beach and water mods, CycleDogg's seasonal flora MMP, and SM2 Sands MMP. You'll see a bunch of custom lots, mostly from mattb325, spa, SM2, jestarr, ITS, SFBT, as well as BSC/NYBT/SHUR content, among many others. Cities here are all played in easy mode, no notable cheats other than occasional god-mode terraforming.
