About this City Journal

New Chandler has been going for THREE YEARS and COUNTING! It's time for you to check out the two-time Trixie-winning tropical culture of New Chandler!

Thanks for all of you who left feedback on the San Urbano update. It was very different than what I'm known for being good at, the tropical theme, and some of you pointed that out, so we're going back to more tropical urban goodness in the next update. Speaking of that tropical theme, I've had the goal of obtaining the "Best Tropical CJ" since Dream of a Summer Holiday won the inaugural award in that category two years ago. I finally got it this year after being runner-up the last, so I'd like to thank all...

Summer is coming...

The last update was over a month ago, and I've been working hard on developing the entire city tile to the west of Murray City. Now, there are three in a row (Carla Vista, Murray City, and this one). Once it's done I'll have content for at least three updates to power this journal into the summer, so that will be nice after being off for so long! Until then, here's a little teaser. I know there is not a lot to see here except some mattb325 and maxis houses but hopefully you enjoy it anyway

Subway ride!

It's time to ride the New Chandler Metro for the first time in NC 2.0! Today we will ride the 8 line the entire "short" length. The 8 line goes from the Central Core up through Winchester. Every other line continues on about 8 more stations to Andersen. Here is a sign from the platform from our train. This particular line is the only one to have its own platform on the metro. Looks like we will have three minutes to sip on some coffee. This is a sign that hangs above the platform. And we are off! The first...

Sophanem's minor AIN summit bid

DCMetro34: clicky otto4: sunshine and citydome Adrianor: haven't tried it, I used buildingplop to do it. Thanks everyone else for the nice comments! I think this entry is one of my best (along with the last one) In the last entry we explored some landmarks of Sophanem, like Sunshine Stadium... But did you know that you were only teased? Woah, was that Downtown Sophanem? And the place where they are bidding for a minor AIN summit, in the government meeting hall? The one in beautiful wooded Sophanem City...

Sophanem, An Older City

Replies were on previous entry. The Sophanem Spire is a large radio and observation tower. It is the third tallest building in the city. Near the Sunset Pier a new statue made out of brass has been erected. A desalinization plant removes saline (salt) from Mitchell Lagoon to provide the water of Sophanem and northern Doherty. Southern Doherty (previous entry) and Roseburgh (coming soon) are two other cities on the same island that make up Pelham Province and have their own desalinization plants. A common...

Sophanem City Center

Baliam12 - comparatively speaking, quite quickly. My big cities take much longer. Plus Avondale is completely plopped (and what I am showing in Sophanem is also completely plopped). Thanks everyone else for your nice comments and for voting! To end this entry, I leave you with a mosaic. I didn't break it up though, so you can view it by clicking the next image...

Simlympic Torch Relay

My apologies for being absent for about ten days, I have been working on my next town, Rockaway, which has the most annoying street layout for city building (sort of like Washington DC) It will pay off though, I think it will look awesome when it's done. I can't post the 18 youtube videos that correspond with this entry easily, so you will be getting a link to see that! Hope you do not mind. I don't care where you comment (simsports or here) While I was gone, I was left with a new record of comments......

Simlympic Teasers

This isn't an official update, just a few teasers from my coming simlympic bid I want to share with you all. These are the first pictures of the second New Chandler City as well, so enjoy! You can see what city you are in by looking on the little postage thing below the stamp. This one is a bit different but it's in the same location. It's a television shot instead. You can also click it and be rewarded with a better quality image! Click for good resolution. This one is also scaled to a high resolution,...

Simlympic opening ceremony

That's just a taste of what the Simlympic opening ceremony has to offer! Go to Simsports to see the entire extent of the ceremony, the largest update in New Chandler's history! http://simsports.darkbb.com/t2764-opening-ceremony-of-the-xv-simlympiad

Simlympic closing ceremony

SOUNDTRACK: "WITHOUT YOU" BY DAVID GUETTA AND USHER http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO9THtRWb2s Note about the photoshopping: Don't look at the torch much Kirk Pedula: Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to a very late presentation of the closing ceremonies presented from New Chandler. I'm Kirk Pedula, with my co-anchor of NCNews 2, Anita Calatrava. Anita Calatrava: Due to delays with the life of the presenter of this show, the closing ceremony has been pushed back into November. However, don't fret,...

Note: this is part of the Simlympic Bid. You can view it on the Simsports website. Largest City and Capital of USNW - With a metropolitan area fueled by abundant resources and growing commerce, New Chandler City's metro area with the provinces of Andersen and Cameron is upwards of 35 million people. However, it is well connected with other areas up and down the country. Host of ISC session and torch relay - During the games hosted by Chihiro last year, Winchester, a city in the metropolitan area, hosted...

In a breezy but clear night in Downtown Rockaway, New Chandler, the second inauguration of the SIBF World Cup is set to begin, at Hollister Insurance Stadium, the largest baseball stadium in the country. For those who do not know, the SIBF is the governing body of national baseball teams in the Simworld. It is mostly on "quiet" sites, especially Simmania and Simsoprts, however, it has attracted 20 countries in a year. The Opening Ceremony is starting now; a bright array of lasers and colored lights flicker...

Shots of Winchester

ooof, it's been a while sorry for the absence. You can vote on this entry though, to allow (or disallow) a professional team to move out of a stadium too small for them. Remember, think economically!

San Urbano Teaser

Here's another teaser of the area you will see more of in the coming days. I'm in the midst of the awesome four-day weekend of barely any homework that follows finals week so this update will hopefully come pretty quick as I stay up late doing some flora details with this project I've undertook. Leave a comment on what you think... I know, it's not much... it's a teaser, that's kind of the point (you'll see a ton of good stuff in the update though )

This is my first update in about three months, so a lot has happened, and I have took on a whole new planning style on. I have challenged myself to build a hip but, of course, tropical beachside community (maybe like Las Vegas without the smoke, or Honolulu without the concrete). I've also built this, literally, on the side of a cliff I have an absolutely gigantic 5590x2465 image of the entire area, and it looks stunning, if I say so myself. But I can't show you it because no website wants a 22 MB picture,...

San Clemente City (teaser #2)

Another teaser My "buildingplop" cheat (which I heavily rely on for my updates) has randomly stopped working, so it might be a little longer before you see this city. It's coming along pretty nicely though, and there is much more done than what you're seeing here May I suggest you view it in full-size?

San Clemente City

It's trixie season, so I decided to make something pretty nothing much to it, but there's gonna be a big update on my new project soon. Here's a first look at it...

Roseburgh

Geoff: yaplog.jp/waldorf/category_11/ CTMandR, Tekindus, Mithrik, glad you liked it. Tepoedon, I don't really know I just realized the other day the only time I really showed Roseburgh was during the ISC session, which wasn't an official entry. So, today I am going to show you Roseburgh, the city directly to the North of La Brea, and to the West of Winchester. The metro system you see running by the turnpike may look familiar, it's the C line! Roseburgh is famous for two things: The American house...

Rockaway: City of Magic

CLICK ON IMAGES FOR FULL SIZE! (they are around 1380 pixels wide each, and they are all .jpeg's, much better than the cruddy ones you get on the forums!) Rockaway is a city of colors and passion. A city of colorful buildings, short to tall. A city of high spirits and fun times, all year long. It's a city known for color, from the smallest houses... ....to the tallest skyscrapers. Easter Sunday is imminent, the holiest day in a Christian's mind. The Rockaway Cathedral is expected to have major lines around...

The Regal District swarms the New Chandler City CBD to the south. It is one of the many cultural centers in New Chandler, with beautiful facades and colorful walls. Many buildings here also have courtyards. A night picture. As you can see, the Regal District ends at a wall of skyscrapers. The CBD. Most of the Regal District looks something like this. Regal Park. A view of the BankNC Arena. This is at the south end of the district. This view shows a mosque and a swimming center nearby the arena. Random...

Playing with the Lot Editor

Thank you everybody for the praise about the Simlympic Opening Ceremony I am trying my hand at my first city that will be, for the most part, completely made by the lot editor. I am making pieces for lower-wealth shantytowns and comparatively higher-wealth yet traffic infested areas with Latin, or Insulonian, culture. I plan on making 14-20 different lots. These are two of them, both having a market closed to traffic on one street. Tell me what you think or if you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate...

Phoebe's salty breeze

We're back! I haven't got anywhere close to all the plugins I need to fully operate into my folder yet, but I managed to pull off this entry. Welcome to NC III! You can't get a more picturesque picture than a flight over the reefs around the small island town of Phoebe. Most people are pretty wealthy to vacation in Phoebe. Most vacationers rent houses on the island, however, the Ritz is also an option. Some shots of the town. Around Phoebe are reefs home to millions of species of animals, plants, and then...

Parringshire, the dreamland

Boy, has it been some time... this city tile was just a pain in the you-know-what. It crashed, it froze, and the farms are still not the way I want them. Nontheless, I find Parringshire presentable today. I hope you enjoy it. By the way, I am heading off to Phoenix, Arizona, the main inspiration for New Chandler, next week. I will be doing a huge comparison of New Chandler's features to Phoenix's features, with picture took by me (and maybe Google Street View to places I can't visit during my trip) and...
