Mount of the Guardian Angel

Welcome to the first town featured in this CJ: Hora Andela Strazce, which is Illyrian for " Mount of the Guardian Angel". The reason why it is called " mount" will become clear from the pics. The town was founded in the XIIth century near a monastery, named after the Guardian Angel. This monastery still exists, although extensively rebuilt in the late XVIth century. The town itself played no role of significance in medieval times, but has become a very important tourist site within the Empire because of its scenic location. About 2 million tourists visit it each year confused_smile.gif. Let's now visit the town......

It seems we have arrived too early today, it is still very foggy.

Mhhh, is seems to be getting better now, the sun is rising.

Ah, finally the fog has cleared. Let's start the tour. The town is dominated by its monastery. The church is the oldest surviving part, still from the XIIth century. The present day monastery dates from the XVIth century. It seems the first tourists have already arrived shades_smile.gif.

The town itself is very small and contains just a few houses.

From the monastery stairs lead down to the coast. Because of the steep climb back up, not many tourists actually descend these stairs.

The town is now clearly visible. In front of the city walls is the "modern" town, no more than a few houses from the XIXth and XXth century and a small church from the XVIIth century.

To the west of the town a small marina was constructed to service the many people who sail along the Illyrian coast. The light house was once situated on a tiny rocky island, but was recently joined to the main land by a break water.

Let's now just enjoy the town, without any comments.

Oops, it's getting dark already. Well, now we can admire the town by night...

I hope you have enjoyed this little tour and that you'll be back for the next entry!

OK, seriously. That is simply amazing. One of the best pictures I have seen on here in a very, very long time. I hope you can keep this standart up.

Astounding, just astounding.
Your depth of detail and realism defies logic; you've proved that SimCity can be used as a medium of art.

Hi, great work, but from where do you have these fantastic framework buildings? I search some content like this for a long time yet, but never found. I need framework residentials for building my new project. Would be nice to get an answer for ending my search.

Hi Daan300,
thanks back, I´ve found them, don´t know why not before. I´m german, and my new region, some island state, will begin to grow in the next days. Maybe I will show here in the next future ( if it´s good enough for ;-)). But don´t wait, I´m really slow.

@9988:  Daan300 said to look for "Jenx" on the STEX.  He's also included a link above.  Hope you find what you're looking for!
