Wadesville: Neighborhoods Part 1
WADESVILLE NEIGHBORHOODS
EAST PARK DISTRICT, MIDTOWN/SULLIVAN SQUARE, MOUNTAIN SLOPES
OVERVIEW
Welcome to the second entry for Wadesville. The economic and cultural hub of Morningside Island, this regional hub is subdivided into 9 neighborhoods: East Park District, Midtown/Sullivan Square, Mountain Slopes, Downtown, The Museum District, Riverside Hills, Shady Grove, Blackfoot Hills, and the Lost Forest. These neighborhoods are connected through an intricate transit network seen below:
But for this entry, we will be exploring three neighborhoods: East Park District, Midtown/Sullivan Square, and Mountain Slopes.
EAST PARK DISTRICT
Our first stop on this tour is nicknamed "The Gate of the Islands," Morningside Central Station. With over 50,000 passengers on a daily basis, more people travel through here than any other station in The Archipelago's extensive transit system.
Directly next to the Station, you'll notice the East Park Theater District with no shortage of boutique shopping during the day, but with world-class concerts and theater at night.
And next stop on our tour is the entrance to Morningside Park, a massive, multi-city park bordering 7 different cities (refer to the Morningside Park journal entry for more information).
We'll take the subway from Morningside Station to East Park Stain. We'll exit next to the breathtaking Wadedville Twin Angel Statue (The other Twin Statue being in the neighboring Morningside Hills).
Continuing our tour of East Park, the neighborhoods adjacent to Morningside Park have some of the richest diversity of architecture and density in the city. It complements the jogging and back paths along the park's edge quite fluently.
And some night shots around the neighborhood...

To wrap up our tour of the East Park District, here are some skyline shots to take in the view!!
MIDTOWN/SULLIVAN SQUARE
The Midtown area is centered around a large plaza in the heart of the city: Sullivan Square. Named after the developer and architect, Louis Sullivan, it's home to an amplitude of shopping, nightlife, bright lights, and entertainment. At the corner of the plaza, you cand find Tower of the Islands, a monument built to show solidarity and peace with rest of The Archipelago.
Although not as popular but still striking is the Bekker Plaza on the northern edge of Midtown. If you go there on a warm spring afternoon, you might find some student projects in progress from the White Rock College of Arts across the street.
MOUNTAIN SLOPES
Named for its adjacency to the Lovett Mountain State Park, Mountain Slopes is the closet you can get to nature while still living in the city... literally. The bike trails running through the neighborhood lead to Kyle Park along the freeway and connect to the state park on the other side.
Thank you, everyone, for reading!! We will be reviewing three more neighborhoods next entry, so stay tuned...
