Snowfall and drifts etc

So I am building an ambitious 19th century british theme for Cities...

I have two issues right now:

1: Snow
A: Each individual house you see in the pics is, technically, a prop (long story), they don't get snow-drifts building up round the base of their walls. Is that a problem?
B: DO I need to stop snow from appearing on the steps of the houses, as it's the only snow build-up they get :/

2: Corners and Adverts
I have created 10 buildings, five with ads on the left side and five with ads on the right side.
In-game they really don't appear often. I think the number of cells that the game reads as "Corner" is far lower than we, looking at it, feel are "Corners".
Should I just change the advert-buildings to normal, non-corners so they appear at random throughout?

Gotta admit it makes me glum that I cant get the houses to stack like this AND have the proper Building Snow Effects and _lod distances.

But built as Props they just FIT better... sigh

Thanks for the input though! much appreciated.

Wonderful houses so far! I really like the dirty look, did read korver´s and your´s comments on that. Indeed, C:SL is much too clean.

I am still new to this game, so I have no clue about modding and making assets, but I agree with korver about the paintings and how often they should be visible to not become boring. The snow thing, - well I don´t know anything about the behavior of props with showfall. I have this addon but didn´t start a boreal map until now, and I would be pretty happy with the houses on your pictures - to me it looks very realistic (after someone shoveled the snow away, what should be done very soon). Maybe a cabin would look more realistic if covered with loads of snow but town houses?

A last small critics: It IS a shame to see this thread mostly uncommented but to me it doesn´t look like a city journal. Usually players don´t start with such a detailed concept of what they want to build, and the most creators of custom content seem not to play in front of an audience. So your thread is disturbing, - it looks more like a developer´s platform, and although I like the buildings I am not able to give any meaningful comment as I would be able to do if I would create assets by myself too.

But away from that I am hooked! Damn good work, keep it up!

Hihi...

Thanks for your input/comments.

Yeah, it IS A bit more of a developer's thread I guess. But I there's no specific place for that here as far as I can tell. I started making a gallery then discovered the city journals (I am very new to Simtropolis) and this seemed like the best space for what I am doing.

Anyway, i shall keep updating as I go :D
