2016-02-21_00005.thumb.jpg.81bb1b2e93c9cThis Mediterranean-style building was added in the After Dark patch. It almost fills the complete 4x3 lot (more than 500m²), so it is one of the biggest low-density buildings, and still only level 2.

Default Stats

  • Zone: Residential Low-density
  • Level: 2 (medium-wealth cims)
  • Lot size: 4x3 (can expand to 4x4)

Default Colour Variations & Illumination

That's how you destroy the immersion. Bright orange??? Blue???

Improved Colour Variations

I think this is acceptable. Maybe the blue is still ... too blue. I saw no need for a complete re-texture.

Suggestions:
Upper-Middle Class: Use current textures and improved color variations, give upper-middle class back yard with wood privacy fence, give satellite dish and 2 antennae, replace small solar panel with big one
Upper Class: Make the blue less saturated, give upper class grounds (with tall cedar hedge and a pool), darken some night windows, give another driveway with a sports car (ersatz Ferrari), bonus if the side driveway gets an arbor

5) Suggestions for improvement:

It really needs a garden at the back with a pool. It also looks kinda crammed on the 4x3. Not much need for props decorating the house since most is built in. I'd go for a dark red/bordeaux color instead of the blue or make it less saturated.

  • Architecture Style (if known): Mediterranean / Neo-Romanesque villa.

5) Suggestions for improvement:

Perhaps the blue tiles should be more of a slated colour. I'd prefer different colour variations of the stucco wall as well, a white version alongside a creamy/yellowy one. Just a preference but I'd prefer it to have a garden out back as well instead of it just having one massive courtyard. The garden would be around the back of the property. I'm not sure what the rear of it looks like but parts of the courtyard doesn't have a rear wall either.

2) Rating (number between 0 and 10):

  • Architecture & Proportions: 7
  • Colour (with vanilla colour variations): 3
  • Colour (improved colour variations): 7.5 (Blue one should be out of the scoop)
  • Illumination: 5
  • Model & Texture Quality: 8
  • Decoration (props & trees): 6 (There is not much place for them anyways..)
  • Overall Rating: 6 (This fit a particular architectural style that I didn't play with. And I'm wondering if he really has his place with the other vanilla building.. I wouldn't have mind if it came in a small DLC adding this type of architecture in a bundle with many other lot of that kind.)

3.a) Stat Classification (you can specify one or multiple values):

  • Zone Type (RCIO): R
  • Wealth Level ($, $$, $$$): $$
  • Density ([1 rural] – [10 megacity]): 3-4
  • Household & Workplace Count: 2
  • Ideal lot size (with garden/parking, 1x1 – 16x8): 5x5, 5x6, 6x6

3.b) Stat Classification (you can specify one or multiple values):

  • Zone Type (RCIO): R
  • Wealth Level ($, $$, $$$): $
  • Density ([1 rural] – [10 megacity]): 5
  • Household & Workplace Count: 3 (As I'm counting the doors.. I can't see the back tho, so maybe up to 4 or 5) It would be kind of a low apartment complex.)
  • Ideal lot size (with garden/parking, 1x1 – 16x8): 4x5, 4x6, 5x5 (Smaller since appartment would be in dense area)

4) Style Classification (you can specify one or multiple values):

  • Commonness ([1 rare, unique] – [10 widespread, large accumulations]): 7.5
  • Construction date (1800 – 2100):
  • Continent or Region: Southern Europe
  • Architecture Style (if known): Mediterranean

5) Suggestions for improvement: Too much windows.. There is too much happening on those facades.. I'm so tire of those cedar hedge that look like nothing.. I nice natural stone wall would have been better.  Love the inner courtyard tho.

awesome, now we got all 3 wealth levels in comments!

I agree with you, from the number of doors it looks like $, but taking the garage and the courtyard into account, I would classify it as $$.

The building is deceptive, like a lot of the larger LR lots.  All three reviewers agree that it should hold 1-2 households.  It's a single story building, with a single 2-car garage.  It appears to have at least three primary entrances, two on street and one on the right side.

Eyeballing it on a 4x3 lot, it looks like it's about 3.5+ tiles wide and 2.5+ tiles deep, with a courtyard.  That's going to be close to 8 tiles area, or over 500 m2.  I think the problem is expectations:  American homes average over 200m2, while European averages range from 80 (Italy) - 110 (Fr, Ger) - 125 (Greece, Den).  So depending on where you live, this might be anywhere from 2 to 6 households, which suggests density levels of $, $$, or $$$, or possibly more on a 4x3 lot.
