Nice pictures. The highways and the trees surrounding them give off a European feel to it. Also great choice with picking the Koyaanisqatsi soundtrack- it is the soundtrack for city building.

I can see the difference here with other East Asian/Southeast Asian CJ. you can bring the style of planning of city and try to blend inside of it. I really love how you can bring the urban planning context of the city and give the shape how the city grow from time to time...

Keep up the great work!

also nice usage of seoul Cheonggyecheon there :P

He specifically said this is a Asian, not European city.

Hmmm, the problem is how to make a good transition between the sections. As you pointed out, the highways act as a barrier between these districts, which, of course, has grown independently since. There are important issues raised when you do one way or the other:

1. If you remove the highway infrastructure (as in the case of Cheonggyecheon), where would the traffic go? As long as we see the rest of the infrastructure, we would not know if it would be beneficial or not to remove the highway completely, plus the pressures of the volume of traffic on other highways if this is removed.

2. If you are going to replace the highway (by doing it "Boston Big Dig Style", is there enough capital on this project? How would it connect the districts? Would parkland work? What is the minimum distance between building to building when you build a park over it? What's the landscape like?

An observation to the connection , people tend to walk the shortest distance possible, and in a straight line, as in the case of my University's Duckworth Quadrangle, picture provided below:

I think that's my critical piece for today :P

Looks great! :P

Wow, nothing gets past your eyes does it? Perhaps that was the poster's own opinion? Don't you have any comments about the actual CJ?

Anyways, this was a good update. Your in-game pics look great (as always) but I really like the maps. Along with the Cheonggyecheon elevated roadway, Seoul is currently removing a lot of other elevated roadways. No matter what they do, traffic is still so congested here.
