TMW - Caleston Satellite System | "Get in, Get out"

Overview ~

In the crucial hours during which the bulk of Reaper forces began pouring into the many inhabited clusters of the Milky Way, luck remained for a brief time for systems closer to the galactic core. The Caleston Rift's position allowed people for a brief period to evacuate colonies without Reapers striking at civilian transport ships. As the slow exodus of many began, large portions of the nearly 2 billion inhabitants of Caleston were stationary on the ground, helpless and listening to the various blaring warnings and vid reports about the galaxy-wide invasion. But for the human terrorist group, Cerberus, it was an opportunity to seize, with planetary law enforcement caught off-guard by the outbreaks of violence sparked by the dread that the masses of Caleston's population felt, as Reapers were only door knock away from their system's Mass Relay.

Thanks a lot :)

Thanks, and yeah, the texture do need more working. Although I quickly threw them in without tweaking them so I could be able to use them after making it for like an hour. It's not going to be on the STEX anytime soon anyway. And no, not in this update, but some other update since I plan on making a backstory for those two criminals :)

Schulmanator

Thanks and lolk :P

Thanks, and no it's not the Terra/Bio Dome :P It's a quick domed station BAT I whipped up myself. Still haven't seen the actual Bio dome and it's rather hard to find icon. I could've actually used the Bio Dome for Caleston's domed cities if I did find it though, but I'll just have to keep on searching :P

Hazani Pratama

Thanks :)

Lol, nice pun, and Thanks :P In regards to the spaceships, those are photoshopped from Mass Effect game references ;) Sorry to disappoint.

In the crucial hours before the Reaper's arrival in the Caleston Rift, warning signals travelling across the galactic FTL Comm-buoy network telling of an invasion by a once alleged mythical sentient race of starships caused panic, disbelief and utter chaos for planetary transport, authorities and militaries. News vids from various alien news networks even began to broadcast what the warnings had already established; and though each network broadcasted multiple languages specific to the race of their audience, one factor remained the same. They all broadcasted the devastation brought upon the by the Reapers.

Workers from mining bases, power stations and research facilities isolated from the domed cities of Caleston hastily made their way from their stations, to the domed cities where their families remained. Evacuations commenced, though orderly, to prevent more violence from erupting. In some places, some people remained, some employees insuring they leave their station in order, prior to safety first, and evacuate without blowing their facilities up.

But for the Helas Thermal Power Station,(a power plant harnessing the thermal energy of molten lava from the region's various volcanic vents) in the hours before arrival, their shut-down safety protocols would be compromised by an infiltration squad from Cerberus.

calestonday2.jpg

Though dubbed 'Helas Thermal Power Station', the structure is only but a name to veil the inner workings of a research platform that resides on the environmentally-sealed station. Inside, people were scrambling to get system down without the threat of a malfunction which could damage environmental systems and life support. Research staff simeltaneously lock-down and secure technologies, system information, research data caches - while also storing cargo of said tech for transport.

But in a tight situation like the rising Reaper war, The Illusive man wanted his hands on anything that would give him the upper-hand on the Reapers. Or maybe, it was the other way around. Within a matter of minutes of landing just outside Helas Station, the well armed Cerberus infiltration squad made a run for the station airlock. Blasting their way through the station's security doors, staff and security nearby the airlock and were not equipped with environmental suits, slowly died of exposure to Caleston's sulfuric atmosphere. They eliminated all staff within the vicinity and took whatever tech they needed from the research base within Helas. And prior to entrance, they'd been able to leave the station within a matter of 30 minutes. With the station laid waste to, and almost all staff dead, evacuation was the only option left for survivors.

But with the power station's comm tower damaged and shuttles sabotaged by the Ceberus squad, they were trapped and isolated on Helas. Attempting to contact them with their personal communicators on their omni-tools, they realized as well that they lacked reception. It was only then the survivors on Helas realized that they had no way of contacting the outside world. But little did they know, that the reason for the downed reception in the area was due to the severe damage inflicted on comm towers all over Caleston.

It was only hours after Cerberus' raid, that the Reapers made their apperance near Helas, after hours of attacking Caleston's domed cities, and driving away the protective fleet that safeguarded Cernunnos and Caleston. The Reapers had initiated war in the Rift.

The last pic looks like it could have been a still frame from a modern sci-fi blockbuster.  Awesome work!
