Lake Ado

UPDATE 15: Lake Ado
(weekend retreat)

As the capital receives more visitors for the July games, some locals are leaving the city to escape the crowds. Lake Ado is one of the destinations they head off to. The lake is framed by large mountains and unspoiled woodlands; it contrasts heavily to the busy atmosphere of central Hinawa.

Waterfront homes are found throughout the area. Unlike large development projects common in the city, people buy land to build a house that suits them. The homes vary in size and architecture, making the area very diverse.

The mayor of Hinawa has a house here,
it's a large modern villa with a soccer field and pool. Like a lot of the homes by the lake, it's powered by solar energy and tucked away behind large trees. Locals say the mayor holds very extravagant hotdog barbecues.

An overview of the homes found in Lake Ado. A two lane road curves through the area and heads off to the mountains across the lake.

The road has many bridges and tunnels that connect residents to the city. A train line from the Hinawa's central station also drops you off in the commercial center of the lake. This picture shows one of the bridges clinging to the mountainside.
Just a small update, I thought it would be fun to work on rural Seto. Hope you like it ![]()
