One thing that just trikes me as a bit odd, though is the use of fences on sidewalks. Where I'm from you'll see that at some bussy crossings or bridges, but surely not in front of meters of houses by the street in a rural area. I wonder, is this something you do see a lot where you are from? Or is it just in the type of street and not so easy to control?
