Ionica - Calm Before the Blitz
Welcome back to

Calm before the Blitz
Blitzball is one of the most popular sports and there is currently only one Zone where it can be enjoyed: Pater. However, due to a lockout, the stadium has been silent for the last four months. Fortunately the situation has been resolved and games are set to resume next week.
Blitzball is a sport over 1000 years old and is held in open-air water sphere stadium, designed in a traditional amphitheater style. Once the sphere is filled, a pair of triangular goals are suspended at opposing points within the sphere's diameter (usually at the north and south horizontal points).
Each game lasts for two five-minute periods. The team with the highest score at the end of the second period wins. If the two teams should remain tied during regular League season or Exhibition play, the game ends in a tie. Inversely, if the two teams are tied at the conclusion of Tournament play, the game proceeds to Overtime. Overtime consists of continuous 5 minute rounds in Golden Goal format. This entry is actually more of a teaser and most of the shots are taken up close so you can't see the full context just yet cause the full thing isn't ready to be shown. I'm not sure when I'll be able to show the whole thing because my CJ is going to be in semi-hiatus for the next couple of weeks; I won't have access to my computer and won't be able to 'play' SC4. Each picture can be seen in full resolution when clicked on.
A little tune I was listening to while making this entry. Can't disassociate the two now.

http://imageshack.us/a/img228/6868/simcitypaternovmos8copy.jpg]Replies:SimCoug: Your canal work is excellent as always. I also like the low density modern houses - I've never seen those before. I don't know how I missed the last update, but both of these are excellent! Thanks, i picked up those houses while mining the the STEX for the fourth or fifth time, very neat indeed.blunder: Gaius Frakkin' Baltar.... lol Hearing Saul say that is still one of my favorite tv lines. :Pheheh, loved all the characters on that show but Baltar is definitely the one that held it together.10000000000000: Beautiful city. Looks like heaps of effort went into it. Loving the transit systems
Btw, are those boats photoshopped? (The small cruises and motorboats on the canals)? I recognize them from a water-lot marina, but I didn't think they could be used individually....Thanks, very time consuming indeed. You caught me, those boats are indeed Photoshopped, shame they can't be used.KonstantinII: Nice job lotting the modernist houses!Your city is a classic example of a type 1 civilization. You should also try more houses for suburbs like these one: http://community.sim...r-homes-series/, http://community.sim...c-residentials/, http://community.sim...adrachon-manor/. Barsoom project also has some good futuristic low density residential buildings. The spaceport here: http://community.sim...of-ionica-magi/ Is much too small. Colonies have been created on mars http://community.sim...s-project-room/ Your spaceport needs to handle way more space traffic. Go to here and learn how to make an advance spaceport. http://community.sim...our spaceportsThis is very realistic.Next time please show a map of the whole region and where the zones are located next to each other. Thanks for all your input KonstantinII. On the subject of my spaceport, I realize it is inadequate and it was made a really long time ago, before i knew many of the techniques I know now. If you go look at my entry called Shape of Things to Come you will see that my region went through a radical change and that the Zone called Magi didn't survive the transition. In fact, 70% of the Zones in the new Region have been totally remade and are completely different from the original zones in my original region. I am very reticent to show a full region view because I don't think it looks that nice yet and I'm constantly playing around with terraforming in tiles all around the map so it looks kinda strange.dubaidude303: Look's awesome as always! Great work again dude! :)Hey dude, thanks.ggamgus: Very impressive. As always, I love your parks!
Mah time-travel trip to Ionica was very nice. I got robbed about 15 times every day there, but it was still nice. :PThanks ggamgus. Wow 15 times, next time just get a visitor's open carry permit. In the meanwhile we will assign our best police officer to get your stuff back.
"Serve the public trust" "Protect the innocent" "Find those guys who took ggamgus' stuff, kick their asses, and bring it back." "Uphold the law" yuuka221: Exquiste darling~! Love the eco friendly nature and wonderful canals. Gosh, I would love to live in your city~~! <3Thanks yuuka, come on down, there is a place here for you.Schulmanator: Awesome!! Your cities are always a treat for the eyes-- so vibrant and dynamic. The modernist home is spacious and clean but it is so spartan that I'd be unhappy there. Not too cozy. But the cat would be in heaven with so many windows to look out from! Thanks Schuilmanator. Anything to keep the cats happy.RepublicMaster: Very Nice planning, Better book one of them homes for me
Roger that, there is a home with you name on it, thanks.Hazani Pratama:Very Beautiful! Thanks Hazani.Forthwall: Great shots
Love the car placement :PSweet, thanks Forthwall.TayMay27: nice job! people are really starting to use canals better now! Thanks TayMay, been doing a lot of experimenting with canals, paying off now.Fox: Once again thanks for the reply, appreciate the time and effort you put in especially with all the comments you get. I hope to see what you can do with this larger scale if you ever try it out, it will surely be amazing with your playing skills. Love the small details like the marinas and and the sunken rail. Nice job on the homes once again and love the little river in amongst the homes, very tranquil. Thanks Fox. I've been inspired by many things I've seen in your CJ, hope one day I can get a LotEditor to work on my comp so I can get to that next level.80sreject: The patience of an artist creates a masterpiece, job very, very well done.Oh wow, thanks.Huston: Wow, the immensity of development, the epic-ness of the detail put into this update. :OThanks Huston, the 'problem' with getting better at SC4 is that building a city becomes a longer and longer process because of all those small details.kamran azam: where did you get all that stuff???????????80% of that stuff can be found right here on the ST/Exchange.
Thanks for stopping by!
