No Cheats - Motorway expansion in Vista al Mar.

Just a small update as I have been busy this week...

This map shows a number of motorway proposals in and around the city. The most likely to be built is the Forest Plains Bypass as it is an on-line upgrade of an existing avenue. The West Cross Rout would for an important part of the 2nd ring road, which currently only has 3 sides built. The most difficult to build will be the Downtown Expressway. Oakwood Northway already forms part of the route but some demolition would be required in the south to link it to the Al Mar Parkway...

Thats right ;)

tbh I've impressed myself lol, when ever I used to play it, for aaaages all my cities would just lose money, but after cheating for years and years I realised that even though I cheated, they were all making a profit anyway haha (not due to the cheat)

This is interesting. It may spur me to start my own CJ, just because I take a different approach to "no-cheat." My focus is in getting a region to develop realistically, and I don't use cheats, either (except some DL content that isn't balanced very well). That means starting out with just a few blocks of development and a bunch of farms, and watching the cities gradually grow and interconnect. Like you, I only build highways, etc, once they're needed, but it allows things to look natural and organic, rather than just grids. There's nothing like trying to put a highway through a dense downtown area to force variety and quirkiness, like real cities have.

yeah I used to do that, but since being used to cheating my style has changed. My city really does use all them motorways though, there is also a big subway, all of which is pretty congested. I do find it interesting adding a motorway so a build up area, but in this case I made wide avenues and just put the motorways along pre planned routes to miss out demolition.
