Scott Bluff Viewpoint

16. Scott Bluff Viewpoint
Area: Crater Lake
Tile: Scott Bluff
Welcome back! Today we skip the middle of the Scott Bluff tile (because I haven't finished the flora in the middle yet) and look at the east side of the tile, where the road crosses over into Pine Hill. (as always, don't forget to click for full resolution)
1. As we take the road east we come across the edge of a small community. Trees are more sparse than the lower elevation forests, with vegetation growing more densely in depressions where the ground holds water longer.

2. Houses. You'll notice in the flora that I've started using the straw from the RRP pack in an attempt to cut down on the use of the Green Rye grass that many people smear everywhere.

3. There is still a lot of rock poking its way out of the ground up here.

4. Some of the houses are perched very close to the edge of the massive Crater.

5. Just a little farther down the road we meet a couple farms and a suburb of Pine Hill peeking over the tile boundary.

6. The ground at this elevation is full of little white flowers.

7. Back at that intersection, the side road leads to a viewpoint

8. The viewpoint speaks for itself

9. An overview of the area we just looked at.

10. Another overview.

Bonus: And just for fun, a mosaic of the houses on the small ridgeline and the associated drainage.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this visit. I'm not entirely sure what next week's update will be since I've been spending my time on a BAT project you can see over at simpeg, so tune in next time. Feel free to rate / +1 / comment as you wish. Enjoy the week.

@NMUSpidey: Well if you do a google search there are people who do, but the water up at 6,000 feet is really cold.![]()
@Evandad: Sure you can. Just go for it. ![]()
@bluemoose: Me too. Too bad it's not that time of year. ![]()
