Ida B. Watson Homes

The Ida B. Watson Homes is a Chatelaillon Housing Authority (CPHA) public housing project that is located in the Kremers Industrial neighborhood on the Southwest side of Gideon, Eloisiana. It is bordered by Palmer Ave. on the west, Highway 518 to the east, Kremers Drive to the north, and CSX/NFS/NMRRS tracks to the south. The Ida B. Watson homes consist of 14 mid-rise apartment buildings and were originally constructed for African Americans from 1939 to 1941. They were remodeled and renovated in 2002, ending in 2011.
