LOL, I've shocked you. You're so funny guys.

@Lord_Bertrum: It will be 5 of these sections.

@MayorTim: So you don't seem to be willing to break the secret about the eye in your avatar?

@Pichu0: Thank you :-) Why don't you give BATing a shot? It's not soo difficult. I learned a lot through the forums here. The 101 BAT Compendium in the BSC forum is a very helpful overview document with links to all aspects of BATing. Just try and learn :-) You know, this is my 4th BAT only...

@2ch.net simplayer: Welcome back! Another supertower fellow! That's so cool to hear you get inspired by my work :-)

Guys, you know what: Tomorrow is my birthday ! ! 29.gif39.gif

BTW: Last night I thought Oh, april fools day is almost gone, what a bummer I didn't use it for my thread... like announcing I'd given up or sth... Wouldn't that been funny?

    On the tower:
I redid the lowest sections. Adjust the height of the floors and made them double high in the first 16 meters. Also the little endpieces on each section, the low ones. I made them half as high to adjust to the real model more.
Also after lookin on official renderings again I changed my plans for the base and will probably model it now, it will be simpler than I planned before and actually be enclosed in the lowest section for rendering.
Last night when I was lying in bed I fantasized about the surrounding buildings and I had two really cool ideas. I hope I can realize them in the BAT too :-)

Thanks 4 all your support and interest, I will update soon :-)

Why is it we can't find any final numbers on the height of this tower...  Becuase thoes have to be locked in stone even before the proposal of the building.

They are locked in stone. They just don't want the information publicly available so that competitors for worlds tallest building can't build somthing just slightly higher.

    Hey folks, I'm back again!
First of all thanks 4 the birthday wishes. I had the most wonderful birthday in my life. A day full of love and sweetness 36.gif  I've been sick afterwards though, therefore the delay.

@madawac: That looks like a really cool project you ISAT folks have there 44.gif  I try to post a pic of the changed base soon. I post a pic of the next section in this message though.

@Pichu: Practise makes perfect (Uebung macht den Meister). Just go on doing it and you will improve, sooner or later 2.gif.

@fox: Your applauds are gratefully accepted 36.gif  The continuous support of all you guys is giving more than you might be aware of 1.gif

@scififan68: There's a lot of work ahead still. Do not expect a soon release. Maybe in May/June. Depends on how my real life is gonna change (it WILL change at the end of the month)

@NintendoMaster128: Why do you thinkg they HAVE to put the height in stone? As far as they said they leave the option open to have a range of 700 to 950 possible meters of height. The design of the Burj has been adjusted to that so it is easy to go higher while already building.

Funny thing: As you might know the official confirmed minimum height is 705 meters. A week ago India announced a supertall tower near Dehli with 710 meters. Hm, just 5 meters taller? That's a bit cheap, huh? Trying to steal the WorldsTallesBuilding (WTB) status away with 5 meters only... lol

@frogface: thank you for your compliment 1.gif I am honored by that since I consider you as one of the best BATers of all. I love your amazing works of incredible detail. So thanks again19.gif  Actually you could help a me with the project and provide me with one texture that might be useful: The one you used for the inside of the cube of La Grande Arche. It's a greyish stoneplate-like one. That would be awesome!

Here is the render of section 2. I will  now try the nightwindows and see if my computer is cabable of render the joined sec 1 + 2. That would give us a better screeny too ;-)

    high-rise-2.jpg

Another update, I tried the nightwindows. I don't like the beige so much. I'll try another color. Also I think it's too many windows lit up. Too bad I can't apply different nightwindow intesities.

Yeah, green looked the best in my wall tests earlier.

I just found the official render for the proposed 710 meters (2330 feet) tower in Noida, India, scheduled for 2013:

PLEASE keep the night windows a normal color. I am so tired of people making buildings with all green or all blue windows. It just looks so ugly and unrealistic. I hear that there is a technique for making very realistic looking night lights by putting spot lights inside the building and letting them shine out or something. I don't know the details. Contact NDEX people or something for more info. It is used in a lot of Superstar's buildings, so do a search for his ndex stuff on the stex to see it.

I agree, they look perfect being beige, don't change them to green or anything.  I want it to be beautiful day or night, not an eyesore when the sun goes down.

to do that could mean re-doing the building, the spotlights would need floors to shine onto but the main problem is..
    render time!
spotlights make for hellish render times 45.gif and especially on a building with this many floors
i would say keep it as it is because it looks quite good i think

For as big as it is... the way it is now, would be WONDERFUL!  I say keep it... the color of the lights are perfect as well.  Blue, green, or that yellow-green color wouldn't look good.
