    This board will not display PNG files if you use the Internet Explorer, so I'd suggest to use JPG files (they're smaller anyway).

    I had a similar problem when testing those lots, and after some research, I found the culprit. It's a very strange behaviour that is caused by two different downloads, and I have no idea why it happens. But here's how to fix it: Check if you have the SFBT Stollhouse by Stolloss installed. The "Stollhouse_textures.dat" should have a datestamp from 08/23/2006; if your file is older, please redownload the Stollhouse and install it over the old files.

    This should fix the issue, but for some unknown reason, the main culprit seems to be a pack of parking lot textures -  I can't remember who made them, but he disregarded the ID range from the BSC Texture Index, and that's probably why strange problems occur. Somehow, the Lot Editor must be affected by those parking lot textures, producing erroneous dependencies or whatever.

    As I said, re-install the SFBT Stollhouse, and the issue should be fixed. If not, look for some texture files called "plottexturesx.dat", where "x" is a number from 0 to 9, I think. They might cause said errors, so it's probably better to delete them and modify lots that are using those textures, so they aren't needed anymore.

    Thanks Andreas!  I do have SFBT Stollhouse with the older texture DAT file.  I also have the plottexturesX.dat files and I would love to delete them, especially if they could cause some other texture problems (notably I have a couple of issues with some SG lots).  Unfortunately, unless I'm given specific instructions on how to modify the lots using them, I'd probably screw something up.

    You're a gem, thanks again for the prompt and thoughtful response.  (And, yes, I was being lazy and uploaded a PNG to Imageshack.)

    Those were the parking lot textures by sc4jeeks, right? The ones that were used e.g. on thesdale's Bunnings Warehouse?

    Well vab, altering the lot isn't difficult at all. Just make an empty plugins folder and copy only the building you want to modify into this folder. If you knwo you want to use e.g. SimGoober's or Peg's parking lot textures (or any other particular prop and texture dependency you wouldn't mind using), add the corresponding files as well. Now open the Lot Editor, find the lot in the list, go to the "Overlay Textures" tab and change the overlay textures for the parking lot to anything you like. Once you are done, hit "Save" and then exit. This should have done the trikc. It's really easy - and it's fun, too! You can add your own special touch to any lot you are not pleased with due to one reason or another.

    Make sure you read the Lot Editor readme; you can find it in your root game folder, e.g. my programs\simcity 4.

    Ok, I just composed a really nice thank you note and got "this page cannot be displayed" when I hit reply.

    Thank you T Wrecks.  That nice clue of Thesdale, unfortunately, didn't work for me because apparently what I've downloaded of his doesn't use those textures. I tried searching STEX for sc4jeeks, to see if that would pull up any hits but, alas, it did not.  So I guess I'll go through my 8,000,000,001 custom lots to see if I can find that texture.

    Ohh, very nice! Now make some Aspen covered with snow, and the Arctic tree mod is complete. 4.gif (And I'd also appreciate some fall birch trees, so we can make seasonal trees. We could use the current birch trees for spring, some with a bit darker green foliage for the summer, and the yellow ones for fall.)

    Great job on these recent works!

    A quick question on the trail packs... Are the paths overlay textures in and of themselves, or are they base textures showing through the holes in reverse overlay textures...?

    ... Or are they simply just full-tile base textures with the grass and paths altogether...?

    If you refer to the SFBT Park Sets, the trails themselves in all three packs are pure overlay textures. No reverse overlays, no base textures.

    If I am not mistaken, I think SFBT made this train station a while ago.

    (images may be disorted because I use widescreen format and had to comply with site image regulations)

    For some reason, it is not on the STEX anymore.  Any reasons why?  This is my favorite train station and I use a ton of them in my cities.  However, I removed the the file by accident when I was doing a little cleanup of my plugins folder.  I thought I could just download it again, but its gone!  Can anyone help me find the station file?

    No, this train station was made by Raika, and I don't know if it has ever been on the STEX. You should find it on Raika's Japanese site; use pnorrell's Guide to Japanese BAT Hunting. SFBT has nothing to do with it.

    Well, I can't blame you for thinking so if you ever visited Andreas' homepage. He has a translated lot version of Raika's station hosted there, plus a link to the original model. That's probably how you came to think it was all his work. I don't remember the link to his HP right now, though, and he has apparently taken it out of his signature as well.

    A quick question about the Contruction set that was released awhile back. It seems something is causing the game to crash when any of the lots are placed. I'm sure I have all the dependancies and made sure to download the latest "Essentials" file. A few others have made comments on the STEX file so it seems it's not just me. Any ideas?

    The construction lots don't really have any special setup, in most cases, they are purely eye-candy lots, based on the Maxis open grass lot. The only "special" modding was to move them to the airport menu, since it's one of the few menues that isn't overused yet (unless you have installed one of the airport packs). Have you tried removing all other plugins except the construction lots from the plugins folder? If it works now, then something else interferes with the set. Try moving your other files back in gradually, until you find the culprit. I don't have any crashing issues, so I'd be glad if someone who is experiencing them could give a hint what could cause the problem.
