Wow, I love this CJ. It just gets better and better. Have you figured out how to take pictures with Data Views on yet? They would be really helpful.

Leech10:  Yeah, the President has done a tremendous job of bringing investment, opening up job opportunites, and promoting Riviera Island.  It also doesnt hurt that Riviera Island was voted one of the most beautiful locations on Earth, and Sallam Beach was voted in the Top 10 of Best Beach You Have Never Heard About in 2005!

RadioHeadFan:  I tried leaving the DataView open, but everytime I clicked on the options button to take a picture, the DataView would disappear.  Someone said something about Print Screen, but Im not sure how that works.

Thanks for the compliments! Stay tuned of Part 2 of the tour on Mayfina, coming soon (Hopefully tonight).

No problemo. But if you could just tell me what the average EQ is, average annual income and life expectancy, I can figure out what I want to do with Sallam.

    - Sallam has 1 Hospital, 1 High School, and 1 Elementary School.

    - The Education Level is at 40, the Life Expectancy is at just about 60 years.  The older population is more educated the younger one, but not by much (its pretty constant).

There ya go Mayor Yorke.  Tell me if you need anymore information.  Good Luck!

The budget is healthy, its a pretty good surplus.  The city makes about $10,000 a month.

YES! That means I have plenty to work with...OK. Here's what we'll do. For more education, I want a college, library and museum placed. We can build on that later. Also, have all education-related ordinances enacted. Trust me, this makes a huge difference. I have a city with an EQ of 200 which rose rapidly because of ordinances. Also, enact all health-care related ordinances. PM me if you want further details on my plan.

After inaugurating Mayor Yorke at the newly built Sallam City Hall, President Nedal had a 3 hour meeting with the Mayor, discussing the issues that the Mayor would like to work on, setting a schedule for the next 5 years.  After the meeting, the President said:

I had a healthy discussion with the new Mayor, and there was a lot of positives to come out of this meeting. I told Mayor Yorke that even though the money the city makes goes directly to the Government, I will not allow for the national government to not accept any reasonable request by the city of Sallam.  The Mayor is very focused on impoving education and health standards in the town, including building a museum, a library, and a city college.  We talked about specific new ordinances on a municipal level, as well as the Mayor's vision for the city.

    The President continued:

Obviously, these are all very noble goals and we will work effortlessly to provide for the city of Sallam all that it needs.  But we cannot forget nothing can happen over night.  We, as a national government, continue to develop our great country, as well as developing the surrounding cities.  We did agree, however, that there will be a meeting again, here in Sallam City Hall soon, where will draw up, together, the plans for what I am calling the Educate Sallam Project.  It will include plans to build a library, as well as discussions regarding the ordinances the Mayor is interested in.  We will also lay the groundworks for a small college to be placed in the city.  Thank you.

Good signs for the city of Sallam, lead by such a visionary as Mayor Yorke with the full support of the President! The city has been passed along into very good hands....

    - The very first Riviera Soccer Tournament took place in 2005, with 4 teams competing: Mayfina United, West Mayfina FC, Nahren Giants, and AC Sallam.  Taking place over Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the format was a round robbin format, meaning each team plays each other once.  The top two teams would then compete in the Final.

    DAY 1, THURSDAY:

    - The tournament opened up between Mayfina United and the Nahren Giants.  Mayfina United were much more professional and more organized, but it was the Giants who struck first through their star midfielder, Cesar Booth.  Booth dominated the middle in the first half, constantly pushing the ball up the field into United territory, creating plenty of opportunities for strikers Pierce and Walker to score.  Alas, they were not as clinical as Booth, and the first half ended 1 - 0, Giants in the lead.  United, playing on their home turf, came out blazing in the 2nd half, behind their star Forward, 16 year old Tim James.  James, coming on as a sub for 31 year old Udonis Slimme, ran circles around the Giants defense, equalizing in the 59th minute with a superb one man run the ended with a chip over Giants keeper Kim London.  Booth's influence on the game was contained as the United midfield made it a point to batter and bruise him.  Finally, in the 81st minute, United scored their second goal through James again, this time assisted by winger Peter Hogan.  The score ended:  Mayfina United 2 - 1 Nahren Giants.

    -  The 2nd match of the day took place between AC Sallam and West Mayfina FC.  Mayor Yorke was in attendance, sitting alongside his counterpart Mayor Green of Mayfina.  West Mayfina dominated this match from start to finish, scoring their first goal through Fred Yardly in the 11th minute and not looking back since then.  Sallam FC, considering they dont even have a sporting facility to practice on, were outclassed and outplayed.  The end result was a morale demolishing 4 - 0, in favor of West Mayfina FC.  Yardly had 2 of those goals, and the other 2 went to Samuel Ship and Gary Cross.

NEXT UPDATE: WE WILL LOOK AT THE UPCOMING RESULTS FROM THE INAUGURAL RIVIERA SOCCER TOURNAMENT.  WILL AC SALLAM BE ABLE TO BOUNCE BACK? WHO WILL BE THE STARS OF THE SHOW? STAY TUNED....COMMENTS ALWAYS WELCOME!!

    SOCCER TOURNAMENT, DAY 2, FRIDAY:

    - AC SALLAM vs. NAHREN GIANTS:  AC Sallam's woes continued the 2nd day of the tournament with a 3 - 1 defeat to Nahren Giants.  Midfielder Booth had 2 goals for Nahren, and striker Walker scored the 3rd goal for them with about 12 minutes to go.  AC Sallam's only goal came from striker Veron, a late consilation goal as AC Sallam's hopes of making the Finals were officially gone.  Mayor Yorke of Sallam was seen mumbling something about the team needing practice facilities after the match....

    - WEST MAYFINA FC vs. MAYFINA UNITED:  The match the entire city was waiting for, the stadium was sold out with all the local celebrities attending the match.  The match itself ended as a 0 - 0 draw, but dont let the scoreline fool you...the match was a highly entertaining, very skillful match.  The MVP of the Match had to go to 16 year old Tim James, displaying over and over again his talents to the delight of the crowd.

After 2 days of competion and only 1 more before the Finals on Sunday, this is what the table looked liked:

    1) WEST MAYFINA FC: 4 POINTS, 4 goals for, 0 goals against.

    2) MAYFINA UNITED: 4 POINTS, 2 goals for, 1 goal against.

    3) NAHREN GIANTS: 3 POINTS, 4 goals for, 3 goals against.

    4) AC SALLAM: 0 POINTS, 1 goal for, 7 goal against.

    - West Mayfina FC now has its last game against Nahren Giants, and the team only needs a draw to qualify to the finals.  Nahren, on the other hand, needs to defeat West Mayfina to advance.  As for Mayfina United, if they draw and Nahren wins, then they will be out, so they will be going all out against AC Sallam, a match that shouldnt prove too hard for them to overcome...

NEXT UPDATE: WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE DAY 3 AND 4 OF THE TOURNAMENT...WHO WILL WIN? ALSO, PICTORIAL UPDATE ON MAYFINA....COMMENTS WELCOME!

Ill Tonkso:  The stadium is found on STEX...it was put up around 3 weeks ago I believe.

Thank you for the positive comments guys.  I wanted to point out that Mayor Thom Yorke is actually fellow Simtropolite RadioHeadFan's character, and he is openly involved in the desicions being made in his town of Sallam.  I want to encourage everybody else to get involved in the storyline, it makes it much more interesting for me and you.  All you have to do is tell me your character's name, what he does, and where you want him to live.  Not only that, but you also have alot of control over what you want your character to do or his or her life to head.  For example, Thom Yorke (RadioHeadFan's character) started out as an architect, but after telling me of his intention to go into politics, move to Sallam and run for Mayor, that is exactly what happened.  I want to make it an open ended story where your characters will face challenges and rewards!  Please, if you are interested, just respond with the information I asked.  I will be more than happy to integrate anyone into the storyline.  Keep the support coming!

With regards to the challenges and rewards...it's true. One of the rewards for me was winning the election for Mayor of Sallam, but one of the challenges was getting SMOKED by West Mayfina and Nahren during the soccer tournament taking place at Allen Lane Field. It makes following this CJ so much more exciting, you should definitely get involved.

Thanks RHF, dont forget about Astor Hotel owner AND Stock Real Estate owner Mr. Trent, who has become your sworn nemesis! But for real, RHF hits it right on the money, it makes this CJ much more exciting to create and to follow.

ARGGGHHH...don't mention that filthy Mr. Trent around me. He would gave completely ruined Sallam, it no longer would have been the beautiful town it remains. Who knows, his hotel just might suffer a large tax raise, specifically for beach-side hotels that start with the letter A...

    Rather angry,

    - Thank you so much for the positive feedback guys, it really keeps me going.  Dont forget to PM me or reply if you want to be in the CJ, a la RadioHeadFan. Anyway, back to the ongoing tournament:

    DAY 3, SATURDAY:

    - AC Sallam vs. Mayfina United:  Perhaps the most one sided game in all of the tournament.  A 5 - 0 demolishment saw AC Sallam bow out as ungracefully as possible, and perhaps the only time in soccer history that the Mayor of a represented town (Mayor Yorke of Sallam) be given a red card for volatile behavior!! Mayor Yorke stormed the pitch after the 4th goal, screaming at the referee for what was a controversial non call on the offside marker.  He was banned from the grounds for the duration of the tournament.  It would be a suprise to see Mayor Yorke not take any action in improving AC Sallam.

    - West Mayfina FC vs. Nahren Giants:  An important game for both teams, it was West Mayfina FC who came out 2 - 0 victors.  This set up an all-Mayfina final, and after witnessing a high intensity 0 - 0 draw in the first round, this will be a matter of pride and glory.  The friendly rivalry that goes on between West Mayfina and Mayfina Main will be highlighted on the pitch.  I, for one, cannot wait!

Yes, well...I believe I've already taken care of the situation...yes...

By the way, if you have any questions concerning Mayor Yorke's decision, just PM me. Same goes if you want to be involved, I'd be glad to help out.

By the way, the decision should be featured in the next update (I hope) and I was wondering if nedal had any questions. But PM me if you have any concens about entering the story as well.

    - Finally, the Finals of the Tournament were upon us: Mayfina United vs. West Mayfina FC.  Highly anticipated, watched by nearly the entire city, this was the perfect ending to this successful soccer tournament.  The match was frantic, tough, and very intense, but it was West Mayfina FC that came out on top 3 - 2, much to the dismay of the more well-funded Mayfina United.  So the very first Riviera Cup was lifted by West Mayfina FC.  The cup was paraded through downtown Mayfina (which ofcourse is in Mayfina Main) before heading to its new home of Derfield Pitch.

A look around at this new report from Mayfina:

    <ahttp://img183.exs.cx/img183/1630/bransworthbank20056oj.jpg align=baseline>

    -  The Bransworth Trust Bank, opened in 2005 by Mayor Green as the CEO, was established to break the monopoly held by the Zenith Bank.  Always up to no good and trying to cheat people anyway he could, Cole Zenith was dismayed and distraught at Mayor Green for opening a bank to directly compete with his.  Said Mayor Green, I am sick of Cole Zenith dictating the way people should invest there money through fear.  There is now a much friendlier alternative to banking.  This has strained the ties of perhaps Mayfina's two most influencial people.  There has even been rumors that Cole Zenith might look for ways to remove Mayor Green from his position of power....

THATS IT FOR NOW...LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT UPDATE, WHERE WILL LOOK AT FURTHER DEVELOPMENT GOING ON IN THE REGION.  DONT FORGET, IF YOU WANT TO BE INVOLVED, JUST DROP ME A LINE TELLING ME THE NAME AND PROFESSION (IF YOU WANT SOMEWHERE SPECIFIC TO LIVE, TELL ME AS WELL), AND WE WILL GET YOU INVOLVED IN THE STORY AT ONCE! COMMENTS ALWAYS WELCOME!
