An idea for the station would be to make main station building.

Hope you could post a tutorial on how you did the transparent roof, (soon). I am pretty sure that a lot of BATter would love to be able to do roofs like that. Know Glenni is making a subway station with a glass roof, were it would be cool with some people props and maybe the trains going through.

    What do you mean by make a main station building? A building with an impressive facade, housing the ticket hall and other services? This would definitely be more realistic but the purpose of these BATs was to demonstrate the transparency feature, this is why they are all-glass. So I'm going to make the lots using these BATs for now - they already have entrances - and I will consider making a separate station in the future and modify this building, making it platforms-only, ie remove the entrances (passengers will enter through the stairs). Maybe this could be done together with another BATter, i find it extremely hard for now to make a nice facade, like Jasoncw's.

    As for Glenni's subway, I'am afraid making this IS impossible, you can't have underground props and automata, this is why NAM doesn't have underpasses, ie because they couldn't support them "graphically". Plus subway automata aren't visible in the normal view. But it is possible with el or GLR stations (they are all-above-ground).

    So each of the walls, roof, platforms were rendered seperately....wasn't it hard to line everything up properly in LE? This is a very cleaver idea!

    @yonder7652: not at all, you make a single BAT and save each component in another .gmax file, then you export them separately. Then you make the prop exemplars, all sized the same, and you place only one prop in the LE. The rest are placed by using the reader, you can copy and paste the prop lines and then change the instance IDs and select Reindex LotConfig from the popup menu; this way the are perfectly lined-up.

    The "new" Station is awesome and I can't wait for the GLR version.Is there any chance in the future of a Grass PedMall Tile?.Thanx

    @BlackBeard: What do you mean by Grass PedMall Tile? I understand that the base texture should look like the PedMall tiles, but what other functionality would you like?

    Your PedMall Tiles have come in very handy but I'm kinda a grass freak.NAM came with a Grass Tile so I guess a matching PedMall-Compatible is what I'm aiming for someday.Thanx

    Hi,

    i tried the rail stations ... and they work fine but i cant see them. The SC4tool says ( watching the 4x1 station ) not found @ all props but the first n last 2 which are found in simcity_1.dat.

    BSC Mega props - sg vol1 & the misc tex which are mentioned in the readme are installed, so whats missing?

    DerMerlin, do you have a resent version of bsc mega props sg? the creator of that file, simgoober, updated the file some time ago. try redownloading the file.

    DaMerlin, what do you mean you can't see them? They don't appear in the menu, or instead the buildings/props dosn't appear on the lot?

    In the former case you most probably haven't installed the stations (lots), in the latter you most probably haven't installed the SemiTransparent Train Station Models. This is another needed dependency, it contains the actual BATs, and it is listed everywhere, in the STEX description, in the readme, and the installer itself.

    If you need more help please post a pic and/or a directory listing of your installation.

    Well cogeo your a true pioneer my friend. I am working on a Caslte BAT at the moment, then I would like to try a train station (with the transparent automata). You mentioned something about a tutorial you were going to create. Is that still in the works? Some of the work involved with this is quite sophisticated (to say the least), I'll make an attempt at doing it myself but a tutorial would be great (if that of coarse is what you are planning to do). Either way I (and all of us) appreciate what you have done here. You work is very beautiful.. Thanks buddy...

    As I cycle through my ped mall menues I get grass ped malls as an option.. Perhaps I'm not understanding what you mean.  Did you mean as part of the "entrace set" being based on grass? Hope they maintain a full time staff for lawn repair! ;-)

    Can someone explain that to me? In this city I've plopped the Logistics Center as you can see bellow. Btw, it looks great and very functional.

    City 1

    Then, on another city, next to that one above, I tried to plop or build another one and either way the result is the one bellow. Still fully functional but doesn't look great anymore, in fact it just doesn't look at all 33.gif42.gif

    City 2

    In the beggining I thought I had missed or deleted onedependencie file, but then I remembered that I had one on the other city, and here is the proof. What could that be? What's wrong in here? I've tried many times other options, plopp, buid, tried both versions $$ and $$$, ploppable version, landmark version, all of them, same result.

    I hope someone can help me out in here.

    Nope, never used it, not even know what exactly it does? What strange is that I load city1 and it's ok, then I load city2 and the same lot does show the main buiding and warehouses, only a few props.

    Doesn't anyone have a clue yet? Yesterday I deleted around 200 files and some duplicates (50 Mb) that I never used or hardly ever used, but it still didn't solve my problem. HELP please, or I will have to delete this baby, which it would be a shame.

    I have heard, when the plug-in folder get over a certain size (or amouth of plug-ins) the problems you have appears. Had it once, but its gone with the new install of the game and plug-ins. Trying to keep down the size of the plug-ins.

    The only thing I found strange is that it only happen on that city and not on the other one, same region, different cities (quads).

    This is indeed weird. Looks like the datfile containing the prop exemplars (not models) is missing. This file is named LCP_PropsAndTextures.dat.

    - Could you please check if this file exists?

    - Does the "Props" subfolder contain propfiles or you have removed them all? (pls check the documentation for a detailed explanation of how these files work).

    - Did you install anything else before growing/plopping the lot in your second city but after growing/plopping in the first one? This could make a difference. The files in the "Props" subfolder must be loaded after LCP_PropsAndTextures.dat; being in a subfolder makes this sure. However if you have installed LCP_PropsAndTextures.dat (yourself) in another folder too, this could override the propfiles in the "Props" subfolder, thus not allowing the prop families to work as they should. So please check for a possible additional occurence of LCP_PropsAndTextures.dat in your plugins folder.

    - This can also be caused by elements from LCP_PropsAndTextures.dat copied-and-pasted into other plugins without changing the IDs. So a plagiarised plugin can really cause troubles. In such a case please let me know.

    Otherwise there are more things to check and test, but for the moment please check the ones mentioned above.

    Why, because the $%&^! here, the other day, when doing some filler lots to his CJ, used a few prop packs and also had your megapack installed on that test folder. When copying the new lots to the game plugin folder, somehow copied that file along with others to that new folder. That folder loads after your pack, overriding the other files on that sub-folder you mentioned. I've deleted that extra file and now, everything works perfect.

    Thx a lot mate, you'll be mentioned on the next update of my CJ, along with your amazing work of art, the Logistics Centre.

    Hi all,

    It's been a long time since I made any BAT (due to RL issues) but I have just started a new project.

    The new thingy will be a nuclear power plant. I don't like the ingame NPP, the model is too small, plus it's awfully modded: the power generated is not enough to meet the needs even of a medium city, and it's also too expensive (like renewables). I had released a set of modded NPPs in the past, but these were just "Lots" using the Maxis model.

    The power plant to BAT is the EPR (European Pressurized Reactor, to be marketed as Evolutionary Pressurized Reactor in the US), a generation III+ NPP, rated at 1600MWe. More info in Wikipedia.

    One of the reason I chose this was the availability of detailed information regerding this plant, pics, brochures, videos etc, making BATting of the real thing possible, even if such a plant has not yet built (the first example is under construction in Olkiluoto, Finland). The BAT is going to be scale-accurate. Here is a pic of the plant, together with its ancillary installations.

    Not much progress for the time being, just modelling of the turbine building is near completion (no texturing yet).

    If somebody else has already started working on this, I could even consider backing out, otherwise I'm open to proposals about possible joint development, as this is not going to be ready soon (too much work and detail). If you are interested pls PM me or post in this thread.

    This type of building is very hard.  It's big, but has few features to give you any detail to work with.  You'll have to do a really good job texturing it to make it look good.  I would consider making up details too, although I don't know what kind of details they would be.

    A real nuclear power plant would be welcome in a lot of people's games.

    Hopefully there will be someone to work with you.  I would, but I already have too many other projects going on.
