Just finished the high quality export of the station, so i think i can do the modding stuff like transit enabling an so today.
At first pjot wanted to do the path files but havnt heard anything from him now for about 3 weeks.
Then qurlix sayd he wanted to do them, actually waiting for any response from him.

Hre are a few screenshots of the station as i said still have to place props and make the modding stuff...

Is there any chance we could get one of the raised park type stations for this project?

thats awesome. I assume that the HSRP logo will dissappear on the final product. Since maybe we dont want to call our systems the HSRP

Looks good! My only gripe (and it's my usual one) is that I can see tiling in those textures. If you really want to go that extra mile (and make me happy 3.gif) take them into photoshop and make them look unique like real walls and roofs.

simply fantastic!

when this is released, will we have to remove our existing monorail before installing this?

love the station and do the tracks have to go all the way through because you need some kind of terminus somwhere

After a long time i have some new progress, the station is no finished!

Yoman3: this is a general purpose station so the tracks run through the station.

Hamster TK: the hsrp sign will remain there because it looks very plain without any sign on it.

And since its the high speed rail network why not place a hsrp sign on it?

Jonno: i actually have no idea what a raised park type station would look like, do you have any images?

This will be the default station for the high speed rail project, so it will be included and replace the original monorail station.

Since it has two high speed rail tracks on it it would not make much sense to upload it to the stex without the other hsrp files.

Excellent work !!!!

BTW, I like the logo on the building ... and it's certainly appropriate.

Now if someone could nudge qurlix and wake him up to do the pathing ...

wait wait wait wait a second... this is the main station?!

ok thats a good thing but the only thing im concerned about is that not everyone will have a EL Rail and a Train system going into it... itll just be a waste... why dont you just make one that is just for HSR and then 1 with all the connections to it...

dont get me wrong i love the station but i dont think it should be the default one...

This will be the default station since it has all connection possibilities, i simply dont have the time to do thousands of different stations for the hsr...

At the moment its already hard to find the time completing all the other stuff and it looks like that i have to do the path files by my self.

But everyone who wants can bat additional stations, and i will upload the 3ds and the textures for the straight hsr piece so it can be used for stations.

Look at the glr there isnt even a single station included.

no problem, just wanted to point out that all this stuff takes up a huge amount of time and in addition the station just took 17h to render...

And since at least one station is needed to replace the default monorail station i decided to do this one because it offers the most possibilities and i allway wanted to have a multi network station.

3ddz - the station looks great - it is clear that you have been puting in alot of time and hard work on this, so thank you. and i uderstand why you would want this as a defult station, it offers the most posiblitys. i would suggest a turmanus type station latter on as HSR is rail after all, maybe a rail yard type lot that could act as both a turmanus and a service station for the trains. i would be happy to help if needed. anyway it is only a suggestion and i know how busy you are with this project, its looking great.

Thanks Swamper. I'm sure 3ddz appreciates the help ... and so do I. People who don't BAT or MOD really have no idea how much time and effort is involved.

I did some testing concerning the network speed and i tweaked it so you have a average comute time of arround 25min between city1 and city 2 which are 2 large maps away from each other.

You cn see the actual radius around the station in the white circles, and all commuters say medium commute time.

To get this i changed the network speed for monorail from 2000(NAM 10x Speed) to 70000 which is quite radical but produces quite realistic commute times, what did you all think about this?

It doesent work so well for comute from city3 to city2, i have arround 1200 sims commuting but tons of no job zots in city3.

Well, personally, I think modding the network speeds too radical is not exactly the best idea. You can set everything to "almost unlimited", but still getting lots of no job zots, since it's not the distance from the sims' homes to their jobs which cause the problems, but the general setup of your entire transportation system. I. e. you will get long communte times even with this radical settings when there's is no fast way from the homes to the stations (and obviously, you can't plop HSR stations in front of every house). Regional commuting is a nice idea and works quite well, but the key of a successful city is a good local public transportation system.

I'm using as slightly modified "better pathfinding" traffic plugin where I tripled the capacity of the streets (because they are almost unusable otherwise) and doubled the allowed commute time. I rarely have any no job zots at all, since I'm trying to develop my cities in a way where long commute times are prevented right from the beginning. Avenues, highways and rail transportation are always the shortest trip, and the sims won't use smaller streets as shortcut since these are layed out to be longer than the main arteries.

Bus stations are placed everywhere, and of course next to every rail/el-rail/monorail/subway station, so the sims can change between them. Esp. high-density areas with lots of $ and $$ buildings need a good access to public transportation. Another key is to limit the amount of wealthy sims, since abandoned R-$$$ buildings are very common because of those picky folks. A good balance is about 5/5/1 sims for R-$/R-$$/R-$$$, this can be reached by setting the R-$$$ taxes a bit higher than the other ones.

Im not so happy with this radical settings too, but the goal of the system is to allow commute over 3 large city tiles. The problem in city3 is not the distance between the houses and the station.

There is a block right next to the station wich commutes all the way to city2 with medium comute time, and the block right next to it wich has the same distance to the station(just across one road tile)

shows no job zots...

is it possible that this is caused by the absolute distance needed to reach the jobs?

And you are right the comute time is nearly only determinated by the time it needs to get to the sation and from the destination station to work and not by the hsr trip. And thats what it should

be because its like in reality, it takes longer to get to the station than the actually ride.
