It will indeed become as useless as your post. Eventually. We might continue as a general SF thread, just to spite you. 3.gif

At least we'll get a decent conclusion. I don't want the series to drag on and become as bad as the average tv show. 22 good episodes are better to have than 44 crummy ones.

Who wants to bet that the entire series will end with a shot of the fleet reaching Earth?

Thats going to be the 1st episode of next season.

the remainder of the season will be them slowly discovering they are ALL cylons or something like that.

    Sci Fi News:

SciFi has released their fall schedule, and says that "Beginning in October, SCI FI will air Battlestar Galactica "mini-sodes" entitled "Razor" during episodes of the hit series Flash Gordon, Fridays at 9 p.m." 3.gif

    Also: return of Farscape

Dr Who Series 3 in playing of Fridays  Before Flash Gorden.

BTW Flash Gorden not to bad,and if thier showing minisodes of BSG so much the better.

Which is not to far away in october.

Just found this thread, glad there are other BSG fans here! Though I have to point out that the thread subtitle says that "Season 5" begins next January... it's season 4. 3.gif

I've been watching Season One and Two (and the mini) on DVD over the summer with my Mother. Suprisingly, she has gotten really into it. We are up to The Captains Hand. Funnily enough, I've almost become an expert on those two seasons since I started to watch it. (Poor Billy 15.gif )

Anyway, the Season Three DVD is coming out on Monday, and I can't wait to watch it.

As for Earth, I'm thinking the best thing for them to do is for the entire crew to die, or at least all the main characters, in a final battle against the Cylons above Earth. We should never see them landing on Earth, and we shouldn't have any indication as to what time period Earth is in, and if it is inhabited or not. The last scene should be a camera swing down onto Earth, where it lingers for a second, as the debri of the battle floats past, and the survivors (if there are any) are seen going through the atmosphere.

Sound like there will be little bits of episodes( 5 minutes or so ?) of BSG during this season of Flash Gordon.

Sorta sounds like  what Cartoon Network did with the Star Wars animated Clone Wars thing.

Although i do hope that  Scifi does what Cartton network did and show the whole thing at once at some point.

Cant stand  just bits and peices of a show like that.

Theres a battlestar wiki?  Thanks for the reply.  We don't get the SciFi channel up here in Canada, but I'm sure it will be on at a similar time.

I have been watching this show more and more... The more I watch it, the more I want to watch... This makes it a perfect show for the TV networks to advertise something because they know I will be watching. I am also looking forward to Razor when it comes out...

My favorites so far have been Pegasus, Resurrection Ship, Exodus and the Eye of Jupiter...  I also have a liking for the show's musical soundtrack, especially during the prelude to a battle and the battle itself (as well as the aftermath).

The biggest thing that frustrates me is that the show is filmed in HD, yet we can't get the show in HD here in Canada because the Space channel takes over Sci-Fi's programming (as with every other Canadian network broadcasting US TV shows the same time they air) and there is no HD channel for it. Oh well, at least my TV can blow up the show which is still widescreen to fill up my screen.

I caught the last half of Razor on Saturday night. Pretty intense stuff as always. It, along with the upcoming previews, gave a great teaser about the upcoming season in March.

Sooooo... Forget being a Cylon, is Starbuck going to turn out to be a villain afterall? 9.gif

Ya, I too watched only the last half of Razor on Saturday. It was confusing to me because I didn't see the first part so I really couldn't follow what was going on. The thing I did like were the awesome space battles and the special effects. It was also cool to actually experience what Fisk went through under Kain's command. One question was answered in this 2-hour episode: the fate of Starbuck. Now that we know her fate we can see what actually happens.

One thing I did want to see that wasn't in there was when Pegasus got the first transmission from Galactica . We know how they responded in Pegasus, but I did want to see their expression when they detected the fleet.

I really want to see what happens to the fleet after we left them at the end of season 3. You know, the power outage and the Cylon fleet close by, and, of course, the return of Starbuck.

I have never watched the new BG, so maybe I can throw this question to the fans. How does it compare to the shining standard of sci-fi tv, Firefly? I am one of the biggest FF fans ever, but I'm leery of remakes of old shows. Questions/comments/discussion?

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

Like Firefly, Battlestar Galactica isn't an over the top kind of science fiction show. There are no crazy aliens. BSG's guns fire bullets, their missiles carry nukes, their operations are believable. The Galactica really is like a big aircraft carrier in space, except outnumbered and with group of civilian ships to protect.

It isn't connected with the original series, which is a good thing in my opinion.  It's definitely worth it to at least find the miniseries and season 1.
