i probably will continue this (currently i am making a series of lord foster's structures which are not as difficult as i thought), but i have a question. i completely overlooked my favortite FA premier league squad (Chelsea FC) and was just wondering if anyone would really rather have another one (like portman road or the ones i mentioned in the first post)

i'll consider most english stadiums, since gerrard plays for liverpool there is a better chance.
i have started camp nou, but i'm not sure if i'll continue with it (not as impressive - architecturally as some of the others are).

when i'm not reading James Joyce's Ulysses, i dabble a bit with gmax. i just got my computer back, fixed and ready to be used. so here is a preview of Parc des Princes (it's easier and faster to do at the moment than Stamford Bridge and any other british stadium):

this week has been a pain for me at school (it's still not finished); but i am slowly getting back into the bat. i figured out the main reason why a start so many buildings; it's not that i get bored with a particular building, but the style of the building. for instance, after i while i'll get bored of a modern building by foster or calatrava and move on to a more neoclassical style. but, i don't usually go back to the old files and they are left unfinished.
so, i think i need to work on several buildings simultanously. currently, that is the glasgow central station, parc des princes, and several people have requested st. james park so i guess i may do that as well because i like the structure.

i'm still trying to get myself to make portmand road because i know a lot of people like the team, but it's just so plain, but will work well for generic stadia. anyway, the next update will either be for the rail station in a new topic or a seating update of le parc des princes.

    Oh no... 15.gif15.gif15.gif15.gif15.gif15.gif15.gif15.gif15.gif15.gif

I just read you lost some work again... You are one of the most talented people on this site when it's about making buildings with the Building Architect Tool... I've seen screenshots of stuff, better then 90% of what's on the STEX. Not because the rest isn't great, but because your creations are so magnificent. And then you lose your work everytime.

It's like rebuilding a house every year because every year a tornado comes over and destroys everything.

The easiest way to save your stuff is to make a partition on your harddrive. Then you can format C: with windows, but save back-ups on a D-drive. That way I can save my regions if I have to format my D-drive. Such is not hard to do at all. There are even programs to make a partition when you have only C and windows is running.

I hope you manage to find out how you can protect your computer. There is anti-virus software, and Windows XP service pack 2 is pretty good in keeping your computer protected.

I also hope you continue to make great stuff that can be released some day...

don't worry dargor, my dad gave me a memory stick with 1 gb of space on it; i save a backup file onto there all the time.
but, thanks for that info about partitions, i might try that out as well.

I like the look of this - it would be great to see a 4-stand football stadium rather than the all-in-one newer type (e.g. Parc des Princes style).

i finally had time to place some seats (when i'm not playing half-life 2 or writing papers):
    Attachedhttp://picturehosting.simvision.net/uploads/post-34-1107397889.jpg>

ryan04, the problem with making olympic bid stadiums, is that there is very littly information on the buildings; and since i'm a perfectionist, it probably won't happen...at least not yet.
stamford bridge will have the hotel attached.
now that morientes is on liverpool, there is a higher chance for that stadium.
lol flrscf, but i actually respect rival clubs. juventus is a rival of madrid, but it is my second very club; i also am a great admirer of Henry and Bergkamp as well as Highbury.

i'm going to try to finish the Melbourne Cricket Ground as well, and maybe start Murrayfield and Anfield after i finish the le Parc des Princes and Stamford Bridge.

JEC, do us all a favour:

    BACK UP THESE FILES!

Please! Put them on a CD. Place the CD somewhere safe. I don't want to see another one of your creations fall victim to viruses or freaky random errors. Thanks.

Stamford Bridge is looking amazing... nearly made my eyes pop out! I hope you finish it.

    morifari, i got it covered
newyorkrunaway1, i can see that, i don't like many other stadiums, architecturally, either, even if i love the team.
oh, my dad has been wanting to get a new computer to replace his 12 year old one, but has never had any reason to.
but, my computer didn't have a pci-express or agp bus to place a new video card to play half-lfe 2. so, he decided to take my computer and buy me a new one, which i am writing on write now (and i must add that half-life 2 is absolutely amazing with a directx 9 card).

so, i'm still working on transfering my files over to this computer, but in the meantime, i finally rediscovered a great site: stadionwelt.de
it has pictures of almost every stadium, not just in europe, but all over. however, the best information is on german stadiums.
since there are several german simcity players, and the world cup will be in germany next year. i decided that i will make Westfalenstadion, the most famous in germany. BUT not before i finish the other two first.

btw, i'm almost finished with modeling the hotel of stamford bridge.

I'm going to try to finish the Melbourne Cricket Ground as well.
Have you made any more progress to the M.C.G? There are new photos on the MCG Redevelopment site Cameo 2003 mentioned dated 18 February 2005 mainly involving the members pavilion part. And also, have you started Flinders Street Station as you said in my CJ thread? I'm not pushing you, I just want to know how they are coming along. Thanks.

lakeyboy, the seating on the mcg is a pain, it's taking longer than i thought. plus, i am still not sure what is on the exterior of the redeveloped stand. about flinders street station, i am hoping to release some stadiums before i start and also finish glasgow central station (which i have been working on for a couple of months).

don't wait on me though; and don't worry about being pushy, i need some reinforcement from time to time.

like i said before, seating is a pain, but i tried to take some short cuts, but they render terribly (parc des princes is a good example). so i got some help from jtportland and tested it out on a seating plan without any curves:

    index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=1999 b

the modeling and texturing should be finished by the end of the week, modding the file to make it a reward and possible a custom quey will take a bit longer because i don't know what i am doing.

ipswich town and norwich seem to be fairly popular clubs here, so (someday) i'll have to get around to doing portmand road and/or carrow road...

also does anyone knoe why my render background is not black?
