Alkaola:  sorry for the horrible mistake.  btw, i need the name of the building, not just simcity.com.

dev also love the government square.

    Chapter1.jpg

    Update 1.0

    AtlantisNaturalReserve.jpg

Chapter 1, Update 1.0 - This update will focus on the Atlantis Natural Reserve, a City Park Preserve located only minutes away from downtown Atlantis, Athenia. With rivers, ponds, cliffs, and trees, lots of trees...it is a lovely place. I hope you enjoy looking at the Poplar forests and lovely scenery of the Atlantis Natural Reserve.

    Atlantis_transporthub.jpg

So...you've arived in Atlantis...since you only have a few hours, you plan to check out what the Natural Reserve has to offer...you get off the train, go through security, and hop on the first available free tour bus through the park.

    Atlantis_sundial.jpg

As the tour bus enters the park, you pass under the interstate and fall into an area surrounded by trees...you can make out some sort of body of water beyond the trees...but it is basically an endless forest...only minutes from the town center. You come up upon a unique landmark of the park, the giant sundial.

    Atlantis_largesundial.jpg

The sundial was erected in 1973 in commemoration of the 100th Annual Nation Time Day

    Atlantis_VisitorsCenter.jpg

As the bus continues through the park, it makes its first stop at the Atlantis Natural Reserve Visitor's Center and Museum. Here there is a lot of old photos and stuff from Athenian places, highlighting some of the unusal landmarks...you don't stay long, yet do take a look at a few photos...

    Atlantis_trainbridge.jpg

Photo in museum...card reads: Here is a photo of the Train bridge which crosses Scott Canyon. This photo was taken in 1985 before the R$$$$ development appeared on the mountain.

    Atlantis_river3.jpg

Photo in museum...card reads: This photo was taken in 1985 and was taken before the R$$$$ development was put on the mountain.

    Atlantis_rivercanyon.jpg

Photo in museum...card reads: This photo was taken in 1985 of the Scott Canyon and area of future development before the development took place in 1989

    Atlantis_river2.jpg

The gift shop was offering souvenier prints of this photo on sale at a great deal...you purchsed one...

    Atlantis_visitorscenter2.jpg

Well...you decide to catch the next tour bus back out into the park...this bus in heading out to the R$$$$ development and the beautiful Athenian Royal Palace.

    Atlantis_PrivateEntry.jpg

The road up the mountain is very curvy and steep...yet a lovely drive.

    Atlantis_jaggedroad.jpg

As you continue to climb the hill you notice a small road veering off to the ranger's station, as well as the upcoming bridge...you get your camera ready as you know it will be a great photo opportunity.

    Atlantis_newbridge.jpg

As you cross the bridge you snap as many pictures as you can...you are astounded by the views of downtown Atlantis, the river, the canyon, the trees, it just all fits together into one beautiful landscape...

    Atlantis_R$$$$.jpg

You pass through the tunnel after the bridge and immediatly realize how secluded, yet how openly beautiful these three multi-million dollar homes are...and how huge they are!

    Atlantis_hiddenmansion.jpg

You aren't permitted to get near the secluded vacation home of Bill Gates. He probably isn't there right now...but his privacy is demanded...it's even hard to get a good look at the place.

    Atlantis_ScottManor.jpg

Though...you are permitted to see Scott Estates...the home in which Laura and Madeline Scott lived in for the final years of their lives...it is now owned by a private citizen...

    Atlantis_SecretaryGeneralMansion.jpg

...And you're allowed to catch a glimpse of the Athenian Royal Palace, living quarters of the Secretary General of Athenia

    Atlantis_suicidecliff.jpg

On August 15th, 2003, former Secretary General Sir Markus Daoler jumped off of this cliff and fell to his death. He was in the midst of a vast scandal that was going to remove him from power in an embarassing process...He must have felt like nothing mattered any longer...

Wow...look at the time...you need to be heading back to the station...you pick up a few more souvenier photos at the station and head back on your way home...yet...something in the station caught your eye...

    MecikoCity_OldPhotoofLoop.jpg

The information below this framed photo said it was taken sometime in the 50's in a small town named Meciko City just outside of Atlantis...a souvenier book was for sale on it...and wow...what an amazing story is behind that odd landmark...as well as other things in Meciko City and in the life of Jack Meciko...stay tuned for the next update to find out about Mr. Meciko and his city.

And now...the souvenier photos you purchased...followed by the description from the back of them...

    Atlantis_TrainCrossing.jpg

The train crossing in the woods of the Atlantis Natural Reserve

    Atlantis_scenicdrive.jpg

A part of the Scenic Roadway through the Atlantis Natural Reserve

    Atlantis_overviewforest.jpg

A view of the beautiful Atlantis Natural Reserve

    Atlantis_pond3.jpg

A lovely image of some Poplar trees and a pond in the Atlantis Natural Reserve

    Atlantis_interstatepond.jpg

The Atlantis Natural Reserve is located within walking distance of major transportation options.

    Atlantis_tunnelalongriver.jpg

A lovely view of the scenic road through the Atlantis Natural Reserve

Remember to stay tuned for the Meciko City update coming sometime very soon...I already have it ready...yet it is very late here in AL.

Woah, that terrain is absolutely awesome! And I love the way you've placed monumental style lots across the region like the sundial.

This looks like a bit of a headache for commuters 9.gif:

Ok, so I need some characters...both in politics, and other matters...Thus, here is what I need from those who want one:

Character Full Name (Remember, all of this can be fictional)
    Character Age
    Character Gender
    Preference: Political Character or Other
If other, please give wealth preference...I can't have all be $$$, so I will give you the best I can...

That's all...I think it will be fun to have some character implementation!

39.gifSomeone used the road loop de loop in their CJ!

Very nice update with the forests and the high wealth homes but it was maybe a bit repeaditive. But can I ask where you got the high wealth homes from? Thanks.

And for the character let me think. I'll use my real first name but fake middle and last names.

    Luke Jeremy Hay
    Age 16
    Male
    You can choose this.
In real life, I'm probably a tiny bit over

Dude, you really surprise me in two ways: the awesome detail and quality of your city journal and your photoshop skills (the filters, hue/saturation and etc) , I'm very impressive!!! 4.gif I haven't been this impress with a CJ in a while, just keep up the awesome work! 2.gif

I too have not come to this CJ in a while, and I must say it has progressed very nicely, especially the curves in that road, makes it look very realistic , right?
Well anyway, great job on your CJ.

Deathtoall - Thanks! I really liked the way DT's trees, peg's rock and water mods, the BSC mansions, and everything blended together...it all came up kinda on mistake too...Thanks for your comment and glad you like my work!

sloppet - Thanks, sloppet, glad you're enjoying it all!

    Leech10 - Thanks!

Alkaola - Thanks a lot...I have had fun creating it all...and yeah, maybe I can get you some sort of mansion...2.gif

norwoodman - Thanks for the comments on the terrain! All hand crafted btw...I've never understood, nor tried grayscale or anything else...I use an in-game region...go into the city, level it...reconcile and then terraform...lots of fun!

soldyne - Thanks for the comments! And the character!

nycsc4 - Thanks again...and also thanks for your character contribution!

    DuskTrooper Nice indeed, eh? 2.gif

    GreekMan - Thanks!

lakeyboy - Thanks for the comment! I knew these updates would be a little repetitive since I have really been working on completing Atlantis and creating the historical aspects, I haven't had time to do anything too substantial...The mansions are BSC mansions...simply type mansion in the STEX and you can find them!

chocolatemax285 - Thanks! Very flattering to have comments like that from someone who's work is so awesome! And yes...mystery is going to play a big role in this CJ...

    jacqulina - Thanks! 2.gif

M-SIL - With those comments coming from someone with as much talent in photoshop as you, I blush! I will definetly be implementing photoshop much more in future updates...

storms991 - Yeah, kinda winding up the mountain...I like the way it turned out, thanks for the comment!

    alsdag - Thanks!

To All - Thanks sooo much for your awesome characters! I am now adding them to the Athenian Character database and they will definetly be implemented in future updates! Speaking of an update...I am kinda due for one aren't I...I have been extremely busy...I still have PMs in my inbox I need to respond to...hopefully, if all goes well, tomorrow Athenia will get updates with either the Meciko City update or an overview of Athenian Government...I'll say this, you can still submit characters if you want...they will be used all throughout the history of this country. Also, I do need a few CJs to volunteer to be implemented in an upcoming update...nothing major, and nothing controversial...just a simple visit from your leader of your government...more details later...

Anyways, hopefully I can get this CJ back rolling again since things have settled down in my life a bit...
