Problem with Boston Central Artery/Tunnel Project (Big Dig)

I am starting this new topic as the original thread has been locked.

I tried the BLP-NDEX Boston Central Artery-Tunnel (Big Dig) from SC4Evermore and I am seeing two issues:

  1. Three of the ramps do not seem to render properly
  2. One Ramp, the BLP Big Dig - 2Lane Offramp Extended - §1,500, causes a CTD when I plop it.

I have tried this with a clean plugins folder which only the basics, NAM, God Mode, submenus and such. Does anybody have an idea what the cause is?

Are you using a Mac?

    We haven't forgotten about your report, but I'm fairly busy these days and have limited time to test it. So far I have very much mixed results. I can confirm the #1 issue with the leaking terrain, though I have no idea why it happens now, because when I initially tested them half a year ago they did not have this issue otherwise I would not let them released that way. 

    Now about issue #2, that's a bit of a mystery. So I tested a freshly openned city tile (it was previously pre-occupied, but I used  the region view delete tile to give it a fresh start) and I got not just on that particular ramp CTD, but all last 3 of them in that submenu. So I got CTD even on the 3 lane ramp. 

    BUT

    Here is the main mystery and I still need to test further scennarios, I found the original test tile where I initially tested these ramps and I found all of them plopped (for some reason the terrain leaking was present this time one those ramps that you've mentioned on your image) and I was able to plop all the ramps without getting CTDs. So I saved this tile and went back to the previous freshly opened city tile and wanted to plop the ramps and when I got to any of these last 3 I got CTD...

    Now this morning I opened an other city tile (large tile), this was already in use (it was used testing for a HRW station) and I was able to plop all the ramps again without CTD.

    Here is an other exemple... Again developped city (medium tile).

    This is a freshly created medium tile city, again I did not get CTD.

    Aaand then I opened an already created, but not developped small city tile and when I plopped the BLP Big Dig - 2Lane Offramp Extended - §1,500, I got CTD immediately.

    And then I chose a small tile with some development. And was able to plop them without any issue or CTD.

    Then in other cases I was able to plop a few of them wihtout CTD and suddenly I got a CTD... So I have no idea what's going on. It seems very inconclusive when and how I get CTDs wiht these ramps... I tagging @rsc204 maybe he has some ideas, what might be going on... When I have time I try to figure something out to resolve the terrain leaking effect, but honestly I don't know what to do with these CTDs... In the lots there isn't anything obvious, that would suggest some errors...

    Thank you for the extensive update. I assumed that there might be a larger challenge. This is not at all urgent.

    Is there anything unique about these tunnels that is different from any other tunnel?  If not, maybe rebuilding it from scratch would help?  I hope it's not the model files.

    Lol at only noticing this 10 months later...hmmm

    My feelings on this are, well there is probably a good reason why some things didn't get released, perhaps that's the case here? Random CTDs are always a bugger to troubleshoot, ideally bugs/issues can be triggered by following a consistent formula, those that don't need, IMO, a more brute force approach. Insomuch as you can, verify the Models themselves are not triggering CTDs. That probably requires creating a big lot and adding them all as Props, ideally with newly created Prop Exemplars to rule any errors out. Then do everything you can to try and trigger a CTD, assuming you can't and are willing to invest the time messing about to get here, step 2 is, remake everything else. Take the models and re-create from scratch all the Lotting and Modding but using modern methodology.

    Doing this will of course not illuminate the problem that exists now, but in my experience is the quick method. Of course, I have been burned more than once having put in the work, to find that whatever is wrong just simply is inherent somehow to what you are trying to do.
