CTD when scrolling to certain tile area

My problem is as simple as strange: I'm experiencing a CTD when scrolling to a certain area in my city tile.

Is there a logfile somewhere that I could examine?

Here is the link to the city tile file in case someone want's to examine it.

^ Ignore that vertical window frame line. (My plugins are set for some coding I'm doing.)

I'm missing NAM and several plugins you use, but I can scroll to any part and no crash.

Look for .txt files in C:\GOG Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition\Apps or your equivalent. Trouble is they often aren't overly helpful.

Strange. There is no problem with zoom level 0 (maxed out) and 1. It occurs when nearing the red circled area withzoom level 2. The only thing that I have changed is rearranging my plugins when installing sc4pac.

Edit: Well, it obviously is connected to my plugins. I removed them all and didn't encounter a CTD. Will go through sorting out the faulty plugin and keep you posted.

Sounds good. Keep us posted. I'm curious now what it'll turn out to be.

Random story: Long, long ago when CB and I were parsing out the Lua code and tracking actual loading order and such, we created a bug for ourselves that was a nightmare to track down. Some city tiles would load and be fine forever and another would crash within 5 to 10 seconds and it turned out because we were restricting which Lua loaded or not while sorting, the culprit was the cargo ship for the seaport.

It was when that was issued a hidden command to move around that the game crashed.

Yours sounds similar to that inasmuch as the weird crashing when scrolling by, but there doesn't seem to be a plop in that red circle area. One guess would be an invisible wildlife generator lot. Maybe the lot code is present in plugins, but the Lua for it is not? With no plugins the game does even realize it should generate something, but with half of what it needs: Kaboom!

You are using SC4Fix.dll, right?  Otherwise certain network pieces can cause a crash to desktop while hovering over them if you don't have it.  Did you forget to include it when you revised your plugins?

    I checked and yes, it's present :-)

Houston, we have a solution. I only took me 2 hours to cope with my own stupidity *:D.

The CTD was connected to the CAM installation. When installing the CAM, you need to combine the original SimCity_1.dat with another file into a new SimCity_1.dat, which then replaces the original one. Wich I did, using datpacker to pack the files together. As I am naturally lazy, I just put the two files into  a "SimCity_1"-Folder within my folder containing the uncompressed plugins and ran the DatPacker with the standard directory settings for the whole plugins directory. Which resulted in a "SimCity_1.dat" within my plugins folder. Whilst correctly replacing the original file with this on, I professionally managed to fail to delete the version within the plugins folder.

Long story short, this file decided to raise a conflict with jestarrs MEga prop pack vol 2.

I now deleted the SimCity_1.dat from my plugins folder, and everything is fine. Funny side note - I played some weeks with this conflict lingering, but obviously managed to avoid building on this specific part of the tile.
