The odd thing about that being the error message is that the plugin directory can be found within Wine as that is how the plugin is running!

It could also be an error with a sub-directory or any number of other things.

What Windows version do you have WINE set to mimic?

Release version 2.1, which improves the plugin's error logging along with various other optimizations.

The MultiPackedFile class that handles .SC4* plugins is now exposed to GZCOM, which allows other DLLs to use it.
See SC4PluginMultiPackedFile.h for the GZCOM class id.
Like the MultiPackedFile class for DAT files, it implements both the cIGZPersistDBSegmentMultiPackedFiles and cIGZPersistDBSegment interfaces.

Thank you for adding the extra logging information to v2.1.  I am not sure why my problem exists but I have been able to resolve it.  The more detailed error read as:

    Quote

    FindFirstFileExW failed with error code 3. Path=C:\users\crossover\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\075-my-plugins\Civic\Landmarks\U.K.
    FindFirstFileExW failed with error code 3. Path=C:\users\crossover\My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\075-my-plugins\Civic\Landmarks\U.K.

That path does exist so I assumed it did not like a trailing dot, and renaming the directory to just "UK" has fixed everything.  The game now loads with all the plugins and there are no errors in the log file.

Incidentally, I am running as Windows 10, 64-bit, which I think was a choice I configured manually while trying other things out.  PortingKit is a front end for Wine integrates with GOG with recipes for working configurations so you just need to link a GOG account, click install, and it creates a Mac .app file.  I am pretty sure I remember the standard installation for SC4 is as Windows 7, 32-bit.

Thank you so much for this plugin! I used to be so meticulous about keeping my plugins folder clear of errors or warnings that I might find in SC4DataNode. That was far more trouble than it was worth. I don't feel a need to do that anymore thanks to the performance improvements that this plugin provides. The lag when opening menus with a boatload of plugins is gone!

Fun fact: Buffalo sauce contains the entire DNA sequence of buffalo, so you can clone buffalo while eating buffalo wings with buffalo sauce at Buffalo Wild Wings in Buffalo, New York. I've never tried it, though.
