Game CTD after reinstalling everything in another computer

I moved to a different country in the other side of the world, left my old laptop but took the precaution of copying everything into a HD, the whole pluging folders, I decided today after not having played the game since early February to give it another go, reinstalled it, downloaded the launcher, and pasted the plugins but... of course, it CTD.

The game loads well, the regions same but of course after it finishes loading one city it just crashes, even if it is fully empty.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease tell me I don't have to install plugin by plugin or I might die. Especially since I noticed SC4 Devotion does not exist anymore, having to run blindly through possible dependencies and bats confliction through each other is enough as to give up, honestly, I don't even know where to start. Thanks in advance.

The old method of checking dodgy plugin folders was to split your plugin folder in half and try running the 1st half in a city if that worked then you tried the other half ... depending on which half failed you then split the half that failed and tried again, based on the only time I had to do it it can take a couple of hours but it's much faster than checking individual plugins out trying to work out what's causing the crash

I forgot what's the name of the Rivit's tool. It's so useful for searching problematic plugins in an instant.

Most likely cause if you use NAM, you copied over the Full RHW controller but forgot to patch the new SimCity 4.exe with the 4GB Patcher. Since it’s a new install, this modification needs redoing.

Easy to check by pulling out the Network Addon Mod folder and seeing if the game loads now.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Thanks a lot, truly, this was the issue, I was absolutely scared I would force to go through the ordeal of updating one by one!

I didn't, thanks, I'm sure I need to patch this too, I will download it again.

If you have the NAM installation (download), then this tool is included in the main .zip file.

If not, you can download it direct from the creator’s website
