I have the Steam version of SC4 installed and am running on Windows 10 64 bit with 16GB RAM.

I downloaded NAM 44 today and found the installation process rather confusing.

How do I know if it is installed?

While I'm not a NAM expert, I'll give a basic answer that should get you started. *;)

Load a city tile and check in the "Transportation Menu" at the very bottom of the "Build Highways and Ramps Menu" to see if the NAM logo and details are there.

Here's mine, but it's an outdated version:

Now, if you installed RHW (which is prolly a default) and the 4gb Patch failed, you'll likely Crash to the Desktop when trying to open a city. That, incidentally, would also show that NAM itself is installed and just means the 4 gb Patch might need manually applying.

Hi CorinaMarie, unfortunately my "Build Highways and Ramps Menu" does not have that NAM controller ICON showing at the bottom.

I then watched the tutorial on how to install NAM by Ulisse and discovered I had not run the JAR file, so did that and now The Game crashes on trying to start a region.

If you followed the video tutorial then you had to be a little more careful as first you had to run the 4GB patch and then install NAM.

Hi Ulisse,{I had originally given up trying to install the patch.}  I finally worked out how to get that 4GB patch to work, I found out how to go about it by reading a reply in the Steam Forums by one of your Moderators.

So now I have it installed and all is well.

I have had lots of patches and installations over the many years, most with Train Simulator and there have been many different ways of doing them.

Some were rather tricky, then some wizz would work out a simple way to install the whole thing with one simple installation program they wrote. *
