How to fix this annoying plop bug?

So for years I have lived with this bedbug in Simcity4, I consistently plop parks down in my cities. And when I do this appears (in the image). I just can't plop it down there or in the nearby tiles. The only solution I know is to move it away and back then you can plop but it's quite annoying. I sometimes have to plop hundreds of different kind of pieces but I have to swing crazy to do it. Are there known any fixes to this bug? Or some reliable ways to eliminate it.

Which park is that? I plop oodles of Maxis parks and have never encountered your bedbug.

You have reached the "Dead Zone" and there is no known escape, except ....spin the piece around on un-built land until it turns blue, or go back in menu and click anew. Some kind of memory issue, I believe. Happens whenever you're plopping a lot of something. More annoying when it's 1x1s.

Also, sometimes you have a lot missing a base, and you just think it looks empty.

    With every kind of ploppable, in the park section or landmark, it's inevitable bug.

    Also renewing it every time takes more effort than sliding it away as I do, but really is there no fix for that?

    As far as I know, no, and I've been playing since 2003. Don't remember if it was a problem on PS or not. It usually happens when you try complete coverage on a tile, but it can happen anytime.

    Ah. So that's why I haven't seen it as my plugins are minimal.

    I've also been suffering from this issue since I started playing SC4 in 2009, no matter the size of my Plugins folder. Sometimes I just can't plop a lot at a certain location although there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to plop it there. Moving the cursor somewhere else and then returning temporarily solves that issue, but only until I've plopped said lot once. It doesn't really prevent me from plopping something in case I really want it where I want it, it just takes me a lot of time.

    It really usually happens when plopping the same lot several times, but it is limited to a restricted area (although I can't tell you why). I can't tell if this only happens with custom plugins, I barely, if ever, plop the same Maxis lot everywhere, over and over.

    You described it exactly as I have it, yeah it takes alot of time sometimes, because I have to plop much stuff usually.

    Cori flora-blasts many of her city tiles. Flora doesn't register as a lot, so much of her tile is essentially un-built. This happens more when you are attempting full coverage of a tile. For instance, large plazas, fences, trees with bases, plopped residential. It's happened to me about 8 times, just today.

    Has nothing to do with your PI folder. I've had it happen with almost empty PI folders. This topic crops up from time to time, and I've never seen a solution to it.

    It's definitely not multiple plops, just one plop and then it's immedeatly red.

    This bug has been happening for as long as I can remember, and has nothing to do with any plugins or the NAM. The bug is related to playing the game in full screen mode and then switching tasks or minimizing the game window while the game is still running. Eg pressing the 'windows' key. When you return to the game, you will find in certain sections of the map (usually around the center), ploppable items will only plop once and then you have to move the cursor a number of tiles away to re-plop the item.

    If you don't minimize the game/switch tasks, etc, the bug will not show. I don't know if the same thing occurs in windowed mode as I've never tested it out.

    Thanks it's true, yeah ran some tests and it checks out with not minimizing the game it does not happen, I'll try to keep it in mind to not switch to desktop while playing. Also while using windowed mode and SImcity4 is in the background while doing other stuff it does not appear, but I cannot use windowed mode due to it distrupting the lower part of the UI.
