How do I assign lots a menu name?

I want to assign plops a custom name. However, using "Item Name" from within the Ilives Reader doesn't do this. Same for description, using "item description" doesn't do this. I suspect the Item Name Key and Item Description key assigns this, but I don't know how to take advantage of this. The Item Name and Description only seems to modify the building when it's plopped.

Hi

When I need to change the lot name on the menu lineup I do the following.

Open lot file and you will find 2 exemplar files, one is the "exemplar type - buildings" and the other is the lot config exemplar.

Open the buildings exemplar and change the exemplar name and item name lines to whatever name you wish. Make sure to click on the apply button to the right of the window and then to the bottom again.

Go to the lot config exemplar and change the exemplar name line to match the name and do the double apply as well.

Now when saving the file use the "Save As" option under the file menu in the reader by using the name you have chosen. You will now see 2 lot files, one with the old name and one with the new. Make sure you remove the one with the original name from your plugins.

Fire up game, go to the menu in question to see the new named lot.

I hope that answered your question

Hi,

I believe the key in this question is in the Item Name Key and Item Description Key properties. If the lot what you wish to rename does have these properties, that means there are LText properties somewhere which are attached to the LOT and these are overriding the names and descriptions what you gave to the lot. In reader highlight these two properties (Item Name Key and Item Description Key) then right click and delete properties. After or before that you can give Item Name and Item Description to the building examplar, just make sure you remove those two "key" properties.

Before you save the lot in Reader, make sure that in the middle pannel (where you have the examplar(s) ) do a right click and click onto the ReIndex and then repeat it with the Rebuild Directory File commands. After this you can safely save the file, or save as... the file.
