Rail intersections with NAM

Making rail roundabout intersections was so easy in SimCity, but now I installed the NAM add-on it no longer works. Now rail intersections take up a lot of space, or they deny trains the possibility of turning back. Should I uninstall the NAM add-on to get the old rail system back, or is their a way to make to make rail roundabouts while keeping the add-on. What do other users do?

Thank you for your kind reply, but no, such a rail intersection as you show I can still make also, but as you can see, trains can no longer circle inside the intersection, which they could do before the NAM add-on. You drew a big loop for trains to return,  but that was not needed before either.  Thanks, however, for taking the time to answer.

Just a heads up . . . this thread is currently sitting in the Cities: Skylines boards, not the SimCity 4 boards.

In any case, the NAM switched over entirely to using the new RealRailway (RRW) specification back with the release of NAM 37--a change that had been really brewing for since the RRW specification came into being back in 2014, as all of the NAM's Rail content developers decided to stop making content for the original Maxis Rail spec, and went all-in on RRW.  The RRW is a more realism-centric specification, and while it has been dialed back somewhat to become more pragmatic, those tight turnarounds were deemed to be a step too far based on the RRW's stricter standards, and accordingly, were removed from the network.  Even some of the earlier modding work from when Maxis Rail was still in vogue removed them, IIRC.

There are plans to issue a "Maxis Rail Legacy Plugin", to allow users who still wish to use Maxis Rail to have it instead of RRW, though it still requires further internal testing before we can release it.  The whole codebase of the NAM as it currently stands has RRW at its core, so attempting to remove the Rail (RealRailway) folder out of the NAM install will simply result in one's Rails coming up as blanks, rather than restoring Maxis Rail.  And of course, since new Maxis Rail content is no longer being developed, note that the Legacy Plugin may have limited support for newer features in the mod.

Oops! Looks like we missed this earlier and I just noticed your post here in the sidebar saying so.

Moved safely over to the NAM's home now. *;)

Probably my mistake. Sorry for that. Many thanks to Tarkus for understanding what I am talking about (saves me uploading pictures) and for explaining clearly what the reason is for the change. Compliments for the NAM mod in general. Now I make rail roundabouts by hand and they work, but they take up a lot of space and cannot be repaired after accidental damage, so I am looking forward to some rail roundabout mod. Thank you all for your time and attention.
