Hello Builders,

at the last Thread, we was talking about building/set Roads from the Ground to the Top.

Now we are going "Underground".

Underground= between 7,5 and 15 Sub Meters every 3 Tiles.

What is possible? Whats not?

Any Interest about it?

Oliver

This sounds like an open pit mine. The process should be basically identical to your previous experiment, but going down an hole instead of up a cliff. As I said before, you would need a somewhat restrictive slope mod to get a realistic result, but how realistic you want your region to be is a personal decision.

Not sure right now. I have some Idears in my Head. I downloaded many Lots in about 5 Month of planing (Special Thanks to SM and Mett, for those great Lots both made).

This creating would need a bit...

    Stay on Line ^^ Oliver

This happens when you have pieces that don't support slope tolerance on a slope. You need to remove the affected tiles, flatten that area with the 'stub' technique (click each tile individually with Road/Rail tool), then re-connect the rail. Before that last part, I'd put some temporary pedmalls around where the S-Bend will be, to lock in the slope. Otherwise dragging may simply undo your efforts to correct things.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

    Well,

the open Mine is set, the Ground is big enought to be placed with all the Lots that there are out. The Network works... guess im done with it. Thats so simple, there is no How Too needed ;-)

Maybe im going to play a while with this Tile, who knows. For myself i learned a lot of Terraforming in detail. If i do so, i will be back here with Pictures.

Hope this Thread was enjoyable, Oliver

One last thing: the Space between the Network was 3 Tiles. And the Digger worked 2 Times per Level= 30 Meters down each Level. If you go down 60 Meters per Level (set the Digger in the North, South, East and West. So the Distance between the Mine(s) and the upper Town, is shorter and you dont have Problems by the Commuter.

I´ll test it in a real Game. But that needs a bit. I just startet the Region (ill Upload the Region asap. Its a old one out of the STEX and its lost in Space... but i found it it on one of my DVD´s).

This very old post from @cogeo might help,

On 24/01/2013 at 3:11 PM, cogeo said:

If the region's tallest point is easy to determine visually, you can just install the Extra Cheats DLL, then press Ctrl+X and select the Terrain Query cheat. The query now displays (among others) the elevation of the terrain you are hovering (shown as "Y"). Then go to that tallest point; and you will see the elevation.

Another way is load the region in SC4 Mapper or Terraformer and export it as a 16-bit PNG. Then you need am image-processing program capable of reading 16-bit images. Alternatively, you can export it as RGB (with the new SC4 Mapper), but then you need to decode the elevation data (encoded as colours). As a last resort, you can export it as a normal 8-bit grayscale. Grayscale values here represent elevations, with the default settings (ImageImportScaleFactor=3.0) capable of representing elevations of up to 255x3.0=765m; the sea level is set to 250m, so with the default settings you can get a max elevation of up to 765-250=515m above sea level (which is very low, of course). Use any of the above image file formats to find the tallest point in your map.

    from this thread:

Edit: If nothing else Sc4Terrafomer should get the job done. might involve a restart on the map though...

    • Thanks 3
