This is the tile if you want to try it out-

I did and here's how it looks:

Then, if'n you'd want to spend the time, you could also make overrides for the overrides of The Flying Carpet Mod to add the fields to the city tile sides. *;)

As it is @drunkapple's mod has stars to match their background PNGs.

So was enlarging the .png. But I did find out what the other 4 were for- zoom levels.

So I got to thinking about this you posted-

This member had a good idea, but the wrong execution. I'm talking about the "skyscraper" background. They should have used small commercial buildings or industry, as that's what usually is beyond the downtown areas. That way, the background wouldn't compete with the foreground buildings. Giving it more depth of field. So I made a farm tile, as evenly spaced as possible, squared it up and slightly blurred it in PS and gave it a whirl. The result(pardon the buildings, my plug-ins are currently empty-ish)-

A much better result of perspective. This is the tile if you want to try it out-

Background3D0.png.bf77c634b5204d501b72c052dcc6b9fc.png

You'll notice in enlargement, that I only streeted 2 sides, in anticipation of the kaleidoscope effect. So, whatever you used for a custom background would have to be smaller than what you actually build in the tile. Personally, I don't think I'd use them while playing, as they're kind of distracting, but for the money pics, they could work. Feel free to use it if you want.

Waiting for CB to make another thread out of this. *

That's a lot of HSBC Towers.

The real ones have lions guarding them that came from the old bank building, and have chips in them from Japanese shellfire in the 1941 battle.

This demo is essentially that inasmuch as they are simply bigger overhanging props with a larger texture. *

If created and placed only on the city tile edges which are also the region edges, that would keep them from overlaying other city tiles in the region view. Still, this means the edges where they would be plopped must be 100% flat and at the same height all the way around the border of the region.

What about if this lot is used in an infinite city? I need these lots since I focuses on infinite city concept. Wish there are growable version of that too.

They would interfere with your method.

No, the lot would only be plopped one in one side of the tile and using Photoshop, I'll deliberately includes the lot with my selection and paste it into my stitched images. I'd use this technique for towers located in the edge of the city. Here's the image: High-Resolution-Map-1.jpg

Zoom up and these towers aren't cropped. They're (almost) perfectly in shape because I included them in the selection.

Ah. Ok, you'd understand what you want it to do better than me since it's your method. *;)

Is it too late for my Christmas wish?

    9.  Keyboard shortcuts for commonly used items.  e.g.

    Ctrl+B         RHW Disconnector
    Shift+W        RHW-2
    Shift+E        One-way Road (OWR-2)
    Shift+Alt+R Ground MHW Highway
    Ctrl+Alt+R     SAM Starters
    Ctrl+Alt+E     NWM Starters
    Ctrl+Alt+W RHW Starters
    Shift+G Ground Light Rail (tram)
    Ctrl+G Tram-Avenue
    Alt+G Tram-on-Street
    Shift+G Tram-in-Road
    Ctrl+Shift+G Elevated Rail over Road
    Ctrl+Alt+G Elevated Rail over Avenue
    Ctrl+Y         Monorail

I think @simmaster07 is my only hope, given his black magic bona fides in creating the SC4Fix DLL, or maybe @CasperVg given his Sep'19 thread on SC4D.   *:bunny:

Many of the built-in SC4 hotkeys are very useful, especially the various road transit hotkeys R, Alt+R, Ctrl+R, Shift+R, the G and T when I'm doing earthworks, Ctrl+Shift+R for a transient aura boost, and B for bulldozer, and many others, but how could Maxis forget to do hotkeys for One-way Road and Ground Highway!   :nyah:

I did just re-discover the Zoom In/Out +/- hotkeys, while writing this post.  Very handy, and I'd completely forgotten them.

I dunno if im crazy or something but I remeber there was a DLL extension that added new hotkeys for SC4. So if I'm right and just not plainly crazy your wish might have become true.

You may be thinking of the NAM DLL that's in open beta:

Some new network-related hotkeys are included.

Once you play with NAM installed, one simply cannot go back!

I'm waiting for the day when someone makes a Faber College lot for SimCity 4
