[Solved] Help installing MySimtropolis mod

I need some help with the "MySim" mod I am having quite a problem with it do I need any dependencies? Someone tell me what to do step by step because I put the files in the plugin folder and whats happening is that everytime I try to open MySim the game just crashes anybody got any ideas on what to do?

Unlike most mods, this is not how the Mysim mod is installed, though it's a bit odd that's is crashing your game.

Its download page has a pretty good walkthrough of what you need to do.

I'll paste it here for you.

Inside the zip file there is a readme document and 2 folders:

1. MySim
   Copy entire contents to: C:\Users\UserName\Documents\SimCity 4\MySim
   This contains the avatars of each Sim as 36x41 BMP files, each featuring TPPT corner transparency. Most essentially it also contains a file named MySims.dat which is the 'brains' behind all the functionality being the hex data.
   
   If the "MySim" folder doesn't already exist, it needs creating at this location.

It sounds like you might have the "Rulez" file installed in Plugins, but not the main .dat file located in the MySim folder. Since the "Rulez" removes the default MySims from the selection panel, this means without the custom ones being loaded, it'll cause a crash due to an invalid reference of none being listed.

Please try the steps as @Matrim Cauthon posted above, and just make sure the MySims.dat file is copied inside the MySim folder correctly.

Alright I fixed it is there a way to have more than 5 sims?

Glad you got it working.

Unfortunately 5 is the hardcoded SC4 limit of MySims per individual city tile. After filling up the 5 slots, it is possible to evict any in particular and replace with another MySim of your choosing. If doing this though, please make sure the chosen Sim has a new home in another city, or they might get a little lost and lonely.
