Just a thought, is this natural growth philosophy applicable to the "other" city building game (Cities Skylines) ?

I can't see any reason why not. The tools in both games are different but the settlement concerns like resources, social relations or climate are pretty universal to any civilization (and civilization-simulating game).

The "SimCity 4" vanilla Opera House is the most evil thing in existence. Avoid.

My city journals! *:read:
- SimCity: Tribalism - seven urbanization concepts clashed together
Saving Magnasanti... - the most depressing city in history being revitalized

Also worth checking...
- "TMC's Drawing Board" - my city designs and plans.

Another great topic I missed during my absence. It feels like I'm reading a theoretical book on urban planning. Great points!

Hi @zahrul3, yeah I would say it can apply to many other city building games! Some games might give you more tools to support the playstyle, but it's more of a player's mindset and approach to the game really. If you apply this mindset to Cities Skylines, I'd be curious to see what you come up with! :)

I've noticed how few people (content creators especially) do this in city building games - they approach the "game" as an art project/canvas and completely turn off simulation until everything is all done and dusted. And I haven't seen one content creator do this organic building style in Cities Skylines!

I haven't bought Cities Skylines (yet), though I'm trying it in my SC4 saves to the best of my abilities.
