We Should Add Verified Badges?

YouTube is now full of verified person. That's because more people with >100K subs and 100K with consistency can be easily achieved, especially with popular topics (not with SimCity 4, unfortunately). You can make a "pansos" (panjat sosial, Indonesian word for social climbers) content and boom, your subs now reached 100K and congrats, you can apply for verification. How about if we implement such system in Simtropolis? Maybe, we can set the threshold to 500 reps or 1,000 or even more exclusive, 10,000. As I know, only 8 members that have 10,000 points or more, including the Cyclone-Cori duo. That's a very good substitute for Trixies.

One fear with this is it might brand those who are "Verified" as elite members of the community, and that wouldn't be very tasteful.

On social media platforms like Twitter for instance, I've seen how there is a  check mark beside usernames. This aims to distinguish between those who genuine for who they represent, like a famous person or a company profile. It is different in our community though. If we had a badge for members here at Simtropolis, it depends on what the benefits would be. It could be how tiers of stature within the membership might discourage those with a lesser visible rank.

I can understand user envy though, when noobs see vets parading around with all those medals, and no visible means to get one for themselves. I wouldn't mind seeing image contests myself, to give non-batters a little more participation in the site. But for now, you can try this-
