Greetings, as the title suggests, there are a set of buildings that have baffled me for a long time, I've been playing this game for years but I've never seen them during normal gameplay, I found them in the list of buildings after using the *all buildings cheat*. I wonder if you got some info about them?

  • The SimCity Castle (I remember seeing it in one prepared map only) 4x4
  • Salt of the earth and Grain Silos (I rarely build farms in my city, but even when I do, I don't recall seeing these two buildings) 1x1 and 3x3
  • Salvage Yard (has a unique sound an animation) 4x4
  • Shicoff Muliplex (looks like a medium wealth commercial?) 3x3
  • Bowling Accountancy (looks like a small wealth commercial?) 1x1
  • Soccer Stadium (I believe it makes the zoo noise when clicked it) 5x5
  • Airport Parking Garage / Airport Parking Lot / Runway Connector / Airport Grass (probably unused airport tiles?) all 1x1
  • 3 unique looking parks (probably unused parks / achievement buildings / residential tiles?) all 1x1
  • 2 abandoned seaport tiles (1x1)

Hi Captain Adam,

I don't play SC3K myself, but I wonder if this article @catty-cb ported over from the SC3000.com resource site might be useful for you?

I checked through a few from your list using the Find tool (Ctrl+F) in browser and located some.

Hope this might help in some form.

Thanks ! Apparently three of the buildings are in that list (the two farm buildings) and Bowling Accountancy.

The airport stuff you are never going to see ... this topic explains why

The castle involves using the game cheats ..... have just tested it out and it works

You access the cheat menu with CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+C this brings up a box you type call cousin Vinnie into it and then hit the enter key after that go to the advisor menu (third box from the bottom) and click on the local fundraising event and refuse the offer of money, at which point it will give you this code ZYXWVU go back to the cheat box (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+C)  and enter this code ... at this point if you have entered everything correctly you will have the SimCity Castle available in the rewards menu.

As for some of the others they are offers which you have to accept this webpage explains how

Here is a little update on this, so when you are starting a new city, there is a "user-made buildings" option, which shows buildings you made in the architectural tool and all the buildings that came with the game, so, I found that:

    • The Salt of the earth and Grain Silos building was in the industrial section.
    • The Salvage Yard (same as above)
    • Shicoff Muliplex was in the commercial section.
    • Bowling Accountancy (same as above)
    • 3 unique looking parks (in the parks section)

So my theory is that these buildings were unused for whatever reason or maybe because of a coding error, what do you think ?

Here is a little (late) update.

I found a video of someone playing the SC3K Demo about 1-2 years ago. The salvage yard appeared several times in the video as a low level 4x4 industrial building, for some reason it was not featured in the final release.

Recently, user "Thiekus" @thiekus on discord found several archived demo CDs for SC3K, The "Shicoff Muliplex" commercial building appeared in both the March 1998 Romanian CD-ROM Demo and the April 1998 Czech Score CD as seen below (circled in red). It appears that this seemingly finished building suffered a similar fate to the salvage yard, as it still can be found using the all buildings cheat, but can't appear with normal means.

I might make a comparison thread of the buildings in these screenshots and what we got in the final release.
