Hi SC42008,

I see you've edited your topic title to mark it as solved. For the benefit of others who might be experiencing this same issue with BATs not exporting, it might help to anyone else if you could briefly describe your steps taken to solve it. Even if it's something simple and I'm sure that could be useful information for others.

Thanks! *:)

What I did was check to see if the polygon count was within budget and if it was it would process, if not it wouldent go, even if I edited the allowed budget number

That polygon counter and budget thing is arbitrary. It's there so that if you, for your own reasons, have a limit you want to stick to, you can change the budget and see how close you're getting.

For example if you were part of a group making a 3d game, the art director could tell you that they need you to model a wooden crate, and that the crate must be under 200 polygons. Then you can set up the polygon counter thing to keep track of that.

But the number of polygons in your building doesn't matter for SC4, because the 3d model of your building is never going to be in the game. When you export a BAT, it makes 2D renders of your building, and combines them with the 3D LOD objects, to make the model that will be in the game.

The polygon count might affect Gmax/your computer. It's possible that your computer doesn't have very much RAM, and that trying to load your model into memory in order to render it caused your computer to run out of RAM and gmax to freeze. Or coming from the other direction, your computer might be fine but maybe you added some absurdly high-poly objects to your scene. I would say that in general computers nowadays are good enough to BAT with though.
