So I got a question about FANs (the angle road ones), when I put them down I can never use the road to connect them , I have a pic attached to show what I mean, I had standard road laid out , then decided to put FAN piece down and it connected but the next would not(maybe cuz of the park there) either way I couldn't put road in between it or on other side, is there a secret to doing that stuff?

I know what you mean, I think.  I've used the Home/End keys to turn the FAN piece around, to plop an end piece that is orthogonal (not diagonal or fractional).  You can then attach draggable roads to the orthogonal part.  You can't drag fractionally angled roads, so the FAN sections of road are all puzzle piece building ... and you are committed to using puzzle pieces (no dragging) for the entire section of FAN roads.

Another thing about FANs ... they are quite inefficient in tile usage, occupying more tiles that can't be used for anything else ... which is why overhanging lots become so useful in conjunction with FANs.

I also remember seeing a post some months ago, where someone said their sims were avoiding the FAN / Curve, preferring other roads, even though the FAN / Curve looked like the shortest route (visually).  There were several other roads nearby that were orthogonal or diagonal, and the sims preferred those roads instead.  As such, FANs / Curves might be a way for slightly discouraging sims from taking that road ... which could be quite useful for reducing traffic in residential areas, but a careful issue to manage on commercial routes where you WANT high levels of traffic.

I ran a small test for that in a residential area in Brownsville, and couldn't spot the traffic discouraging effect, but it was only a very small and imperfect test using a single 5x5 RHW-2 Curve, compared to an equivalent RHW-2 orthogonal route.  I'm planning to a larger scale test on these sim route preferences one day, but not yet.

With the FAR piece selected, hit TAB on your keyboard. The puzzle piece to continue the FAR is the third one in the tab-ring. Most if not all NAM menu items have a tab-ring. TAB to go forward in the ring, SHIFT-TAB to go backwards.

You will have to use the HOME/END keys to rotate the piece.

Some (most) pieces won't join together, you'll need to put in a filler piece.

The BSC group created an entire reward system of some sort with the idea to expand the game play options. I've not used it myself, but I'm sure @xxdita could explain it.

Where was the message? Was it a Private Message here on ST? If so, there has been a bit of a glitch with PMs the past couple of days, but we believe @Cyclone Boom has got that patched up and working now. If you check your Inbox, do you see any that you have not already read?

I think they mean in-game. Some BSC files have a message along those lines pop up in your News feed.

yea I meant in game messages, the news ticker thing/feed thing

Dear LightSkinnedPisces, May I interrupt for just one second, Can you upload your messages's screen-shot, Since It reminds me of some issues I experienced before, whereas I'm not sure about if they are the same one, I remembered that they were some Daeley's mods made for the old version, They showed some weird things when I run the gog SimCity, But I couldn't remembered what the name and how I resolved the problem, So If you can send the screen-shots, I could help you more precisely. I hope it helps.

Best Regards,

-- Raymond

This News Ticker item can show up when you have a BSC Reward installed, but have not yet met the requirements to unlock it. For most rewards, you should be able to see the exact requirements in the Rewards menu icon. If you have not installed the proper BSC content to unlock it, you can find them by following the documentation here and here

@Raymond7cn, I believe you're talking about daeley's BSC Funding Mod? It allows you to transfer money between cities. This is the message you'll see if using this mod:
