Local Funding Reverts to Maximum

I am going nuts with this.

I lower my local funding to meet the needs of my population and when I exit the game and go back, the numbers revert to maximum local funding.  I am saving the game.

I noticed this today after having installed a weather mod yesterday and NAM last week.

I have 275,000 population which has dropped drastically in two days, and my city has all the bells and whistles in terms of buildings.

Anyone else going through this?

That sounds peculiar for why the funding slider might be behaving that way. My first thought is if this might be a case of the Phantom Slider Bug which is a known issue that shifts them to the maximum or the minimum on an exaggerated scale. In my understanding, this is often caused when a new instance overrides an existing plopped lot such as a Civic building. It might be due to having altered costs and capacities which then confuses the game in the internal record of the saved city tile.

If so, perhaps the solution described in this topic by @z1 may help:

Before doing anything, I highly recommend making a full backup of your Regions folder.

The key is also to Save (Ctrl+S) the city tile once all buildings in a given category are bulldozed.

For example, should this affect all schools, then it'd be worth bulldozing each and every one of them. Once the city is saved, exit the game and reload that affected tile again. Then let the simulation run for a while to ensure it refreshes and updates all variables. After that, re-plop all of the lots and the problem should be resolved.

So just an idea of what might potentially be the cause of the issue you describe.

By the way, if the weather mod you refer to is this one, that happens to be a clever April Fools prank. *;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to write.  I will try this when I get home.  I did load the April Fool's prank but it works.  The night/day is beautiful but still waiting for rain.  I did get rid of the shadows, though.  The purple bugged me.
