Mouse Pointer Issue

Hey all.

I don't really know how to explain this.. But I'm having a annoying issue when right clicking on the map. When ever i right click to position the camera, it will not go to the spot where i clicked.. it just skips ahead. How do i fix this?

Also, I am using mods. Could it be the custom terrain I downloaded?

Hiya.

It seems unlikely to me that a custom terrain mod would be the culprit. While there are some mouse related properties which can be set via modding, they are not the ones included in the terrain exemplars (nor in water, beach, or rock mods either).

For testing tho, it is good to try it without loading any custom content. The easiest way is to rename your Plugins folder to something else. When I troubleshooting things I rename mine to xPlugins. This saves the hassle of copying them all to somewhere and when you then launch the game it will create a new, empty Plugins folder. Start a new random region and then open any of the city tiles. Now test your right clicking and map movement. If the problem goes away then it will be something somewhere in your plugins. (I doubt that'll be the case, but it's good to test.) If the problem continues (as I suspect it will) then we'll need the peeps more techy than me to offer advice.

Go ahead and perform the test with no plugins and let us know how it goes. That'll help the gurus know what to suggest. After the test you can delete the empty Plugins folder the game created and rename your original plugins folder back to Plugins.

Ok. That sounds like a good idea. I'll give it a shot and post my results here.

Also i'm having trouble posting my CJ....How do i submit it? It is saved in my profile here on Simtropolis, But its not appearing on the main CJ part of this site. Anyways, I figure i would post that in this thread instead of making a new one lol.

It turns out that i need a new mouse.. haha. Because i just now noticed that it is doing the same thing on my desktop. Only this time its double clicking when i only want to click once.

So yeah i figured it out.

Hi there,

Taking a look at your profile, I notice your "Ocean View County" CJ here:

As previewed currently, it shows how there aren't any actual entries submitted. On its own and a CJ is a container for entries, much like how a forum is for topics within. Your introduction text is added inside the "About this City Journal" section at present. Of course, it's completely your choice however you wish to present your CJ, and each author has their own preference. I suspect though you might wish to submit an entry into your CJ for it to appear in the listings.

If so, scrolling down and there are these 2 control options:

Clicking "Manage City Journal" contains an option named: Edit City Journal

This is what to use for renaming it if desired, and then the About text can be edited at any time. There's also an option to enable the custom sidebar, which is like how there's a panel area on Wikipedia pages. Some authors have used these as a summary of their region as posted (population, info, etc).

The big pink button is what to use for submitting each new entry. Then once added it'll appear listed, and on the main CJs index feed.

Glad you've found the solution. Sometimes rodents sure can get a bit unpredictable once they begin to age.
