Just installed the game and the menus are not appearing when I start a new game

I can't access the menu's, pressing esc does nothing. All I can do is exit the game...

I would really appreciate any advice, I have been looking forward to playing this game and It seems as though I may never be able to.

Does your PC live up to the minimum system requirements? How much RAM do you have and how many (if any) DLCs? Are you using any workshop content?
