Cars driving on the wrong side of the road

So my regions are Left hand Drive, and I've recently migrated to the steam version after my CD version stopped working. I first installed NAM on my Windows 10 PC on the steam version , and I selected LHD when setting up NAM but when I launched the game they were still driving on the right. I reinstalled the NAM and still same thing.  Then I went to my other computer which has my region I've been playing on for 4 years and despite having NAM already installed with LHD set. That one is now RHD. I need Left Hand Drive to work because my regions are dependant on it. Why are my settings getting overridden.

The original version of SC4 (disks), depending on the region, would have many different language choices to choose between. The driving side of these, would always be linked to the selected region, i.e. if you choose US English, sims drive on the right, but with UK English, then they drive on the left. The NAM can't alter the game, but for it to work correctly, you need it to match the settings of your game, hence why the NAM includes this setting.

That should help you to fix the problem, note that the Steam version, pretty much only contains the US English locale, regardless of where it's purchased. This is why it defaults to RHD in the first place. You can use the US English locale file for UK English (as outlined in the tutorial). Maxis never localised the text anyway, so you'll see no difference in-game.

As for how your old machine get changed, that's very odd? Did you mess with the SC4 installation on that machine? In any case, you can use the same procedure outlined in the tutorial to get LHD back.
