Hello!

Can you create a short step by step guide of full installing of the game?

During playiing even with original game with widescreen resolution, the game was crashed sometimes without save. And now, after installed some of addons, textures of some buildings didn't appear, for example, I don't see textures of the Fiesta de Turistica hotel and 2 others buildings at Commercial sectior, and when I have downloaded a separate building of Fiesta de Turistica recently, it still doesn't shows itself, and I have just rebuilt it by myself. And the game became more often crashing even when I am trying to make a save during the pause.

Now I am thinking, maybe it would be much better to create a hot short guide of step by step game installing? Or it has already done? For example, a guide can contain something like this: 1) Install the original Rush Hour game; 2) Set the widesrceen resolution. 3) Download these packs of mods/addons firstly, and those pack  secondly. 4) And if you wanna more trains, buses, download this for thirdly.

Oh! And maybe, the next step would be beautiful (if its possible), for example: 5) And finally, if you wanna to reformat a map/cities to 3D, in GTA San Andreas Universe, only for riding, without build progress, but if you wanna ride at all the cities at the whole map, just do some things..., and if you wanna to join your cities with GTA SA cities, do this... (I am looking for GTA SA dimension becuase its not resoursable for computers, and it has the unlimited map; maybe, GTA Vice city also would be beautiful but its map had borders, and vehicles comes back to the center of the map automatically. For example, its possible to reconvert GTA IV to GTA SA, so, maybe if it will be something  possible between SC4 and GTA dimensions?).

A separate install script will be needed for each distribution of the game, and each of those might need a separate section for each OS on which one would try to install it.

If you are having trouble with yours, try posting to the bugs forum, and be sure to mention what distribution and OS you're trying to marry. You should also mention graphics card and what (if anything) you've already tried to do with drivers and custom SC4 graphics config.

That would be a nice guide to have which would take a considerable amount of work to create. We don't already have one.

It seems this is the beginning and prolly root cause of your request. Let's try to troubleshoot that first. (If the game runs at all I'd say you likely have it installed ok.)

• Do you have the -CPUCount:1 parameter as part of your startup target line?
• Do you have the SC4Fix.dll installed?

These two items generally prevent any game crashes.

Many times the buildings you download will have a list of dependencies which you also need. Often times the dependencies are what contain the textures. Are you certain you have all the dependencies listed? And did you check if any of those dependencies have dependencies they need?

I doubt this is possible at all. (Wait for other expert opinions tho.)

Well I can and if there isn't one yet then maybe I will work on one. In meantime I have next best thing, my setup lol. I don't know but it works well for me.

 

Folder #1 - First I have my disks copied to disk images cause it takes 10x less time to install from images.
Folder #2 - Updates your game to 1.1.638
Folder #3 - Updates your game to 1.1.640 (SC4 BAT Update4)
Folder #4 - Next I install SC4 Dat packer and (SC4 Loader*** GET THIS ONE ***)
Folder #5 - The next 3 are optional, I install because I plan on batting/modding. But next would be Gmax3D
Folder #6 - Then I install SC4BATInstaller
Folder #7 - Next install Lot Editor
Folder #8 - Then my STEX collection or your favorite mods.

I say get the SC4 Loader because of the many options to save you time. Look at pictures.

First Pic - Resolution, color bit depth, hardware mode and window mode
Second Pic - That pesky -cpucount:1 is easy now, just choose one core or 2, computer priority and the force draw on scroll
Third Pic - Autosave game and skip intro
Fourth Pic - This makes life a llot easier when dealing with bugs and mod glitches, just tick /untick boxes to choose to load mod or not.
Fifth Pic - Redirect your file paths and make sure game is loading from proper hard-drive/folder.

The way you load your mods can matter too but I have run into this and now copy my region files (which are your save city files) every day to another folder. i lost half my map before, everything on bottom half would not render, just blank lots, I had to rebuild it all, lucky there wasn't too much on bottom half except my seaport area. Hard lesson to learn but yeah with so many crashes and glitches due to mods or just to much to render makes me backup all the time now. or and I think it was caused because I saved the game and exited before the whole map had rendered in wide view. Maybe? not sure.

Thank you all for the beautiful advices. I have instelled SC4 Launcher, set 1 core, installed and SC4Fix.dll and the game was runned beautiful without crashes.

Now a have another question, if its possible to fix "dirty"/abandoned buildings? I have built a new city (a call it a part/place of one city), I built it without marking zones, choosing created residental and commercial buildings from the menu, and a part of it has become abandoned. Or how it can be maked that buildings could be already filled by citizens?
